So I was finally able to finish coloring piece. Really annoyed by how long it took, yet I didn't get nearly as much as I wish I could have, and to invest anymore time in a already somewhat flawed project was seeming kinda pointless. Don't get me wrong though, just because I'm not a 100% satisfied with this picture does not mean in anyway I down right despise that. If that were the case I doubt I would even be submitting this for you guys to view then
Its just I'm not happy with EVERYTHING in here. I have to say if your ever thinking of drawing Ed, your in for a real headache. Nothing ever seems to match up correctly when trying to replicate him, truly his visage is a reflection of the creator's style.
This is bristol board, penciled with .7 mechanical pencils, inked with 01, 03, 08 Microns, colored in Photoshop CS

Wow, I agree, different style, but it looks very nice. And I REALLY love the alchemy looking effect you used. The background looks well drawn, and very detailed, as well as the coloring and shading, etc.

The coloring is orgasmic. And you did such an excellent job on the background. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but the head seems a tad too big for the body. Or maybe it's just me. Other than that, this picture is a wonderful rendition of Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist. Keep up the awesome work. The improvement shows!

The stile (how ever you spell that word) is different then the origanal anime show but it is very good I draw Ed every now adn then but can't get good enough to say I'm better than you. What you have done is amazingly good even though you are not as proud of it as you wish you were

Also, Squeenix doesn't own Ed, they're just the one's who happened to make the game for Fullmetal Alchemist. >.>;

I know its published by tokyo pop, but the artist and creator DOES work for Square Enix, in fact its the very man who designed FF VII. Also if you check the manga, the developer is listed as Square Enix.

Huh. Well, that's news, and it also explains why Squeenix would even put there name on such a horrible game... >>;;

I know, I know, I swear the company's been selling out and just playing with graphic rather than focusing on making a game ever since FF 10

Final Fantasy 10 was a good game though, even if it was a little more graphics heavy than the rest of the game. It's understandable they'd do that, they had beatiful graphics in all the Final Fantasy's before, with the PS2 I could see why they'd want to push for a much better graphics system.
And I agree with you on Kingdom Hearts. Completely awesome game, that.

I know FF X isn't completely horrible, but witht the boring repetive combats, a long unimaginative story that dosn't even follow through, you just feel like they just wanted graphics and that's it. Seems they should be in movies more than games.

I still think it looks great though. I like the details in the background. I only know one person who can get Ed to look right everytime she draws him. Check out some of =Chernobylpets ' work.

You're right. I don't think it's possible for someone to do a perfect rendition of someone elses character. If nothing else the original artist will always be able to see the differences.

Yah, you didn't know? Check the manga's (they're currently being published by tokyo pop) you'll see square enix as the developer company right on there.

Mmm, maybe not enough glow to the power coming from the spear, but besides that I don't see anything wrong with the coloring job, I think it looks great.

wow, this turned out really neat, the colors seem very nice from dark to light, i do like that effect around the spear
