this is.. a pic i did trying out my new lead holder.. ive never done a peice using it before.. and i like it.. but i felt like it forced me back into using line weights.. which is odd.. BUT i like the out come anyway..i put the Hi res up for Download incase anyone wants a shot at puttin colors on it.. just remember to link me when its done and all that good stuff... much love.

um.... did you draw this in illustrator or photoshop, or some other, strange, convoluted method? I'm just... I've just started using it (Illustrator), and it's wearing on my last nerve; I've been looking for instruction of some kind, or at least to know how you did these lines. If you want to explain that'd be awesome and helpful.

sure.. first i opened up my paper program and then a grabbed my pencil program and drew it with my hand program hehehehe.... its just pencil and paper dude..scanned in with a scanner..and posted.. thaz it.

dunno..unclean penciling... you could try adjusting the levels in photoshop.. make the lights lighter and the darks darker.. sounds like unclean line art tho.

I'm not sure what you mean by "unclean line art", I've been avoiding smudging and using clear lines... I just have no idea. Is there some way of learning this, or do you just "know"?

i used to do a lot more with line weights before... it just seemed to slow me down to much and i stopped.. so maybe ill flirt with both for a while and see what im most comfortable doin.

Actually, now that you say so, maybe I should try smaller line weights-- maybe it'll speed up my work. Meanwhile, experimenting with new different styles keeps a person fresh and educated.

Wow. This is a very simple, but very striking piece. Great line weights for sure. And the girl, I'm praying she's 18, but in the event she's not, let's just say she's really cute. Amazing work in her face.

This one's the cutest! It makes me want to go to the beach. And I like that you didn't over play the sexy factor. even though she is in a bathing suit she just looks like an innocent girl enjoying a Saturday at the beach. She looks like she might catch sand fleas and pretend to be a mermaid in the ocean. Fun!
