Description

This is the old QH mare that stays at our house I fiddled a bit with this photo's brightness/contrast and turned it sepia. Ginger is old, but she's still pretty. This pic was taken once we reached the top of a hill. The sunset was lighting up part of her face, and the wind was playing with her mane.

I love all the detail in her mane She seriously has some of the most awesome hair I've ever seen on a horse.

Oh yeah, I was sitting on her back when I took this pic XD

Thank you! I love her mane, too. It never gets brushed, since that takes out so much hair, so it looks all awesome and natural and wind tossed

What a beautiful shot! The angle is unique, yet very eye appealing. And the sepia tones work very well with this photo. I think the sepia tones make the mare look both older and more beautiful, all at the same time. Super capture of a horse that differs from the norm.

Thank you very much for the comment! The setting was perfect, so I just kept taking pictures until I had a few I liked. This one was my favorite. Horses are so fun to photograph, but it can be hard to get them at just the right moment (after taking a look at your gallery, I'm sure you know that better than I do!). Thanks again!

You're very welcome! Yes, I know how hard it is to get interesting shots of horses. The thing I have most difficulty with is ears forward. I have a horse who I swear is camera shy...He'll be looking so cute with his ears forward, but as soon as I point the lens to him his ears go back or he turns away. Lol.

Lol, mine's not shy, though sometimes she pins her ears back and takes a nip at the camera Naughty horsie. Makes for some interesting pictures

Lol. I board a horse that likes to grab the camera strap on my camera...one time he pulled on it so hard it smashed into my mouth and I got a fat lip. Lol. Troublesome horses...gotta love 'em.

Thanks! She is very pretty, prettier than the other horse we have... BUT she is much harder to ride, because her trot is soo bouncy XD My poor back is currently suffering the consequences...*ow*
