Description Graphite pencils (HB, 6B, 8B).
I took this to school to work on in between (and during) classes.
Two of my fellow students saw this. One asked (rough translations): "So what is the story here?" To which the other replied: "There is no story, this is destruction!"
Yeah, that about sums it up.

Anyway, last drawing finished while still a minor.

Very cool idea. I actually had something similar to this in mind that I was planning to draw soon. I was going to title it "As Above..." I'm really into dualities and opposing themes.Β

Thanks. Yeah, spit themes like that are endless and always interesting to explore. Also I'm generally a fan of mandalas/circular designs in general, and it's often possible to work something like this into them

Very true! Seems we have a pretty common style... I’ve also dabbled with mandalas, as well as the dual themes. Never really thought to put them together, though.
I had only a vague idea for my drawing, above and below were as far as I’d gone. Now that I’ve seen your drawing, though, I’m going to have to dig deep for a different idea, so I don’t make something too similar.Β

Nothing wrong if it gives you inspiration, I'd be honored. Just make your own thing, curious to see how it will turn out.

Definitely. As I menioned, though, your interpretation of the thrme is amazing, but all I really had in mind was the concept of above and below. I probably wouldn’t have come with anything like this!
Mine would most likely end up being more abstract...

Hmm what an odd piece but very illustrative. So tell me, why destructive. What IS the story? Who is the man? Is he trying to destroy himself to reach some sort of ascension or you just felt like drawing this?

Not easy questions to answer. A story in the usual sense? No. A concept? Yes.
The basic idea was to illustrate a double nature of immanence and transcendence.
As to the destructive part, I am not even certain myself. Only when this guy (jokingly) said that did I realise that yes, there is a destructive element here. As you have probably noticed, some of my more recent drawings do contain the destruction-ascension concept. But here I think the destruction is more passive, inherent in a way.
