Majere, as I recall from my forgotten legends, is the last name of Caramon and Raistlin, heros from Dragons of Spring Dawning, Dragons of Winter's Twighlight, and many other books. I think that's Forgotten Realms (help?) But they were human. They had a friend that was half-elf, but I've never heard of a half-sibling.

Ahh your legends are partially accurate. The name is from Dragonlance. It did in fact belong to the brothers Raistlin and Caramon Majere, who were in turn named after the Krynnish God Majere (The God of Wisdom IIRC)
The name was lifted long ago, and while she bears no relation to the characters from the Dragonlance series, I always felt that Majere was an approriate surname for a spellcaster.
