Wazzup gals and gents. I didn't think I was going to finish this in all honesty. If you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about, this piece was part of my Inspired Sketches Collection where basically I upload sketches or very crude drawings/paintings that I either don't plan to finish or aren't finished. Anyways, I showed this piece or, at least part of it, back in September of last year , I posted this and several of you mentioned you'd like to see me finish it. For the past couple of months, I've been having a hard time in different areas of my life and one of the hardest ones was in my art. I just didn't like it anymore, or it honestly didn't look right, there was always some issue. So I stayed away from it somewhat. Call it an art block, I'll call it a life block. But this one helped me break the cracks a bit out of the box and so I decided to finish a piece that I felt that related to me recently. Don't you just want to be above everything and when you're far away, it all seems so small and easy. I think that's how Lara feels in this picture. Anyways, feedback and comments area always welcome!
Utensil(s) Used: Corel Painter.
Time: Approximately 6-7 hrs.
EDIT: Changed the graphical scheme between Lara's hand and the cliff-side as a few personally thought it was particularly strange to them, while adding some dropping water onto her knees and shoes for a more realistic tone.

This is a very cool image. I like the color and style. It has a childrens book illustration to it, and I do not mean that in a bad way. I will agree that the hand gripping the rock wall does not look like it is supporting her weight properly, but that does not detract from the beauty of this image at all. Thanks for finishing this one.

Thank you, I tried to put both a painter and comic feel to the piece itself. And I edited the piece a little bit to negate the hand issue one other viewer also had with it and added some water splashing on her boots and knees (I mean, that would happen after all).

Hehe, I'm glad you like it dear! It's like I told Knight-Watcher , I didn't plan for the symmetry of my being bogged down to Lara's traversing the cliff-side, but perhaps it was good that it did. I think it helped me a bit.

Lara exudes a confidence in her climbing just as you show a confidence in completing this once a sketch artwork.

I really didn't plan for the symmetry, but it perhaps it worked best that way.

I noticed it didn't seem like she had anything to grab onto or much visible climbing/rappel gear - still without weighing that too heavily - I still found the overall artwork to be a feast of colors and lines.
Plus in Tomb Raider - she's an agile climber aside from using the climbing axe given to her by Roth when they regroup at the cliffs.

I see the rope and well I don't think I would be quite as believing in my climbing skills to go without a rope or tools. Β I'd leave the climbing to her.
