i don't see why they would, unicorns don't really need cutie marks for magic. though as she reads more of her grimiore she might get magic ruins on her body as she powers up. all blowy and stuff, it would look nice draped over her shoulder and back, and on her forelegs, and her face

im a giant fantasy/magic nerd. i've drawn up and scrapped hundreds of OCs to know how magic ruins would look in at least theory. Oleander is a grey and black unicorn, but she has fushia starting to appear on her body so any magic or additional hair coloring would probably be red or pink. taking this into account and using the shapes off the book would probably result in some pretty cool looking ruins if they ever do make an appearance.

Oleander is a unicorn too, it might be the slight wave in her mane. the way i drew her uses the way i draw rarity too. but Oleander is Twilight for lack of a better explanation.
