So yeah, this is uh...part of a trade that been sitting around pretty much done except for shading on the lower half...and I'm a lazy ass. That's...about what it comes down to.In anycase, drew me a little something, so I did the same. :3 The character is hers, I just created an outfit. Weee.

And I'd like to do backgrounds, I'm just not all that much into them. I don't draw much aside from characters, so drawing the background is awkward for me. Though I really should start.

You should indeed!
If you hold that skill in characters for backgrounds, you could make a hell load of fantastic stuff. Why not start with a few realism? Draw a garden, or your room, something like it. It's a good way to start and get used to details.

I'm not as good with women, so I think it's easier for me to miss things with women then men.
Details aren't my problem, I just don't find as much thrill drawing backgrounds that I do drawing characters. :\

I seen the belly button higher than that... if you want reference for stuff like that, check out Xenosaga.com, Episode III Kos-Mos has an open-front armorsuit and would be nice reference for belly-button placement.

Hmm, I did think about that, in your case of course. I know what you mean, but I must admit some backgrounds hold sometimes a better punch then the characters.

And nope...can't say there's any background I adore. I mean sure I like some settings more than others, but I'd always prefer drawing a character as opposed to a background. ;o
