Because no trip to Japan would be complete without putting on pounds of makeup, layering yourself in fabric till you can't breathe, then tottering around on shoes that are 3 sizes too small while some guy takes your picture.In other words, I dressed up like a maiko. It was.... an experience.

Yeah. Maiko make-up is hella complicated. Still, it's worth it. If you're ever in Japan, go for it!

Oh my goodness, this looks so fun. If I ever go to Japan, I would love to try it.

It's great, as long as you don't mind spending 2 hours getting make-up put on
(You should be ok, except for the shoes. I'm size 7 and they were too small for me)

Well, you have more patience than me.
(They pretty much make you balance on the shoes for the pictures, but you can walk around and stuff without them. Hehe, that is funny)

It was great. The people who took the photos were very nice, even though we all had to pantomime. (No worries. it's not too bad.)

No- I mean the way they dressed you- everything is accurate to a real maiko
Some of the henshin studios use too bold wedding kimonos and the small (but important) accents are not as they should be (colour, pattern...)
