Description Akaiito Red String (the invisible string which binds fated lovers)

Today it snowed and rained all day... so I made it a kitsuke day!

Here I have for you my Meiji period (1868 - 1912) red crested furisode and my dragon chuuya obi. I finally foudn a kimono that can handle this incredibly bright and busy obi!

Anyways, this kimono is the oldest and also the weakest in my collection, so I had to be super, super careful when putting it on. Due to the kimono's weakness, I probably won't try wearing this one ever again. I wore it without an ohashiori, because eventhough it has a luxuriously padded hem, it's so short that it doesn't even touch the ground when I wear it, let alone trail.

That red!!! I'm stunned!!!

I have never seen a red one before - is that a rarity, or have i just not looked hard enough?!

I have to say, this just oozed inspiration for an outfit or four just looking at it - the RED!!

You have such a magnificent collection

Thank you! Red Meiji kimono are not very common, though they do come along from time to time. The red dye was very expensive to produce so only wealthy people could afford it.
