Description
what with g4 ending and the finale giving us some good ships, i thought i'd try my hand at designing some ponies!
none of the designs are set in stone just yet though, i think i'll play with them some more.
nonetheless, here we go!princess starset
sunset shimmer x starlight glimmer
when starlight visited the equestria girls universe, her and sunset immediately clicked. i imagine sunset went back to regular equestria and starset here is the labour of their love. due to starlight's unimaginable magical power, she was born an alicorn. she's an extremely talented magician and a very kind, responsible ruler.
her best friend is princess flurry heart, with whom star became penpals. they have a monthly get-together where they visit the spa, chat about how difficult being a ruler is, read a book together and fall asleep all cuddled up.
as for starset's kingdom, with twilight overseeing equestria as a whole, starset now oversees ponyville, where both her mums are teachers at the school of friendship.
starset most struggles with starberry, who is a little jealous of her. star promises that if they could, she'd swap lives with berry in a second. laffy taffy
pinkie pie x cheese sandwich
laffy is an older sibling to pinkie's younger child, cheesecake. she's very pinkie-esque; joyful, cheerful, all over the place, making ponies happy. her occupation is professional baking, where she sometimes has to don her father's professionalism in order to appear more serious. she's one of those extremely talented confectioners; baking for royalty all over equestria as well as ordinary ponies in ponyville.
even though she's happy with who she is, she's also always been a straight A student and wishes to pursue higher education. that would, of course, mean leaving her hometown and her family behind, since the best universities are located exclusively in canterlot. laffy is torn between these two options, which tears her apart in return.

thunder is everything her mother is. she's very headstrong and a promising wonderbolt cadet. she isn't as full of herself as dash, but her dedication to the academy leaves her little amount of time to spend with friends; claiming that once she's made it big, she won't need friends anyway, as they'll fall out of touch.
her number one goal in life is to make her parents proud, even though they keep telling her she won't go far in life if she won't make any friends. thunder spends a lot of time alone and doesn't believe she deserves any friends, since she already has a loving family and a dream of becoming a wonderbolt. starberry sunrise
twilight sparkle x tempest shadow
starberry is... interesting. she cannot conjure any magic, save for very basic levitation spells. transfiguration or teleportation is something a little filly can do, yet to starberry, it's something she dreams of. starberry tries very hard to impress both of her mums, but unfortunately to very little avail. this takes a huge blow on her self-esteem, because the ponies do start to whisper at one point... princess twilight's daughter can't even teleport? this leads to her being locked up in her room all day, studying magic yet not being able to produce a single spark from her horn. her friends do try to cheer her up and find new things she could excel at, but it always falls back on magic. berry often finds herself "useless" and discovers suicidal tendencies later in life because of it.
her relationship with starset is strained to put it lightly. starberry tries not to be jealous (her mum is the princess of friendship afterall), but cannot help herself. two unicorns producing an alicorn? and so powerful, too? berry's mother is a princess for god's sake, yet the most powerful she'll ever be is when she picks up a mug. this makes visits to ponyville tense. twilight spent more time with starset when she was a filly to help her mums with alicorn-y outbursts, which doesn't help starberry's peace of mind in the least.
this disability of hers was caused by twilight’s incredible magic getting cancelled out by tempest’s lack of magic.
snowshoe
fluttershy x discord
first, a couple of notes design-wise. i'm personally not a fan of most fluttercord next gens, as they try too hard to focus on the draconequus side of things, leaving the poor child an amalgamation of.. non-aesthetic.. animal parts. so i focused on the main parts of discord and flutters to make snowshoe's design work. fluttershy is very skittish, like a deer, hence snowshoe's fawn spots, antlers and tail (the spots stay there throughout her life). flutters' side gave snowshoe a pony face, pegasus wings and pony hooves. she inherited discord's lion paws, his neck fluff and obviously a certain portion of his magic.
you'd think snow is as shy as her mother, but don't be deceived by her looks. she can put her hoof down when necessary, using the chaos magic she inherited. still, snowshoe has all the kindness her mother has.
when snow and starberry were teeny tiny foals, whenever berry tried to conjure up magic to either teleport herself or levitate an object, snowshoe did all the work herself, so that it looked like it was berry finally coming around to magic. this kind lie, of course, didn't last long, because berry's magic mysteriously stopped working whenever snow wasn't around,, which led to fluttershy discovering the truth and with a heavy heart, having to tell twi. snow was praised for her kindness, yet warned. even if it did come from the right place, it worsened berry's state of mind.
i'm also hoping to explore snowshoe's batty side fluttershy's fangs never really went away in my headacanon. apple tart
applejack x autumn blaze
the kirin episode was amazing and i felt like aj and autumn really saw eye to eye, what with jackie being autumn's first real friend in eons.
just like big mac used to deliver apples to sugar belle before she moved to ponyville, aj was delivering apples to the kirin village day and night, only to see autumn, who eventually agreed to move in with jackie.
as for apple tart, she's as stubborn as aj but has a heart of gold. she's a hard worker on the sweet apple acres farm, cutting work time in half thanks to her kirin magic. tart is a delight to be around, but she's also incredibly protective of snowshoe. when the two foals first met, snowshoe was tiny compared to tart, which is how the whole overprotectiveness started (think aj and applebloom in the episode "somepony to watch over me"). snow doesn't need this most of the time anyways, but she doesn't have the heart to tell tart.
however, tart has a bit of a "dark side" to herself. everypony in jackie's family has always been an earth pony, so she struggles to accept herself. even though her mums and jackie's siblings try to convince there's nothing wrong with her and that she's their little miracle, she can't help but feel left out somehow. she feels like she doesn't deserve to be apart of the apple family and wishes for a species change.
