Description
This is a commission that I was hired to make by using his character Rune Blaze (right) and Merlin (left) by I was asked to draw them as First-Year Hogwarts students. Short version, Rune is trying to befriend Merlin, but the young Slytherin is suspicious of this friendly Gryffindor. A lot of little touches were put into the clothes.My only regrets in retrospect is that I wish I had made Merlin's hair in the back shorter and the book larger. Something that would better sell these are young kids. My scaling here more implies teens.

Thanks. I was really happy with this until I was nearly done and noticed they don't look ten/eleven years old. Their bodies are the right size, but the scale of the props and setting aren't selling their age. I'm just not use to drawing kids this age.

The kids weren't hard to draw at all. I got their bodies right. It's just the scale of the books and setting makes them look more like teenagers. The benches and book should be a little bigger to sell they are smaller.

Rune doesn't care about house rivalry only about what intrigues her. Which at this moment is Merlin.

That seems counter to the heart of what Rowling was trying to teach. Although, I was sorted into Ravenclaw. I have no money in that fight.
