Lol thought of something.
A comic concept that's sorta a sequel to this, Spike and Twilight are rummaging thru the remains of the burned down library and in the last panel Spike finds ONE surviving book, untouched, titled: Situational Irony.
And the last panel, I want you to come up with Spike's reaction

Not exactly. Class B fires (oils and liquids) will spread and fair up.
Class D fires (Burning metals common with air craft fires) generate their own Oxygen, pulled from surrounding compounds. Oxygen, which is HIGHLY combustible, makes up 1/3 of a water molecule, so the burning magnesium ignites the Oxygen from the water when doused. Best thing to do (Being on a ship in the US Navy) Jettison the sucker. it will burn all the way down to the Ocean floor, eventually it will burn out.

I always wondered why water won't burn, it IS composed out of Hydrogen which is highly combustible, and Oxygen which is an essential for most types of incineration.

Not really a chemist here but trained in Basic and Advance Fire Fighting... but when you have a molecule (such as water, H2O) it loses all the properties of its parts. The H is no longer a combustible gas nor it O. However, chemical bond is not permanent. It take an imminence amount of energy, say from a burning Harrier wing, but molecules can be re-broken down into atoms. Once separated the Hydrogen becomes combustible and boy does that Oxygen burn.
