So I started on Pepper yesterday, my platinum gold fox, this is a WIP of him. I life size mounted him in a running pose, which is one of my favorite positions. I need to make a small base for him to balance on, otherwise he just needs some drying and painting. Sadly he lost a good deal of fur during the process, although since he has a lot its not too noticeable. It was one of those no going back now situations lol. Usually I would have pulled him like I did my sunglow fox when I saw rehydration wasn't going well, but Pepper has already been a plush, and a pelt and I just was determined he would be lifesized. I am so far pretty happy with the result considering this was a garment fox and never meant for a mount.More pics of this fox will be posted when he is finished.
He is just the start of my series of lifesize ranch foxes. I hope to get a good portion of them finished in different positions.

i'm planing on making a mount of my own, and am just learning how, could i ask you why you put needles in the face, is it to make the fur not move?

Great work. Lip line, head/muzzle shape and ear position all look great. Can't wait to see him finished and on a base

Thanks, I have been working a lot lately with ear position. I wish this guy would have had more eye skin, one was missing a significant more then the other, but thankfully its not really noticeable. Overall I am really pleased with this fox, I find that the ears being positioned correctly is what really makes it a hit or miss for me. Used to not bother me, but after studying a lot of pictures of live fox I realized my ears on some of my old mounts were really off.
And yes the brushing continues, but gotta be gentle as this guy sheds a lot when he is wet, thankfully his leather didn't rip or anything though. I was so sad that the sunglow you sold me did, but he is really nice looking regardless. I hope to get some pics of him up this week

Beautiful pose and work so far , expecting to see it finished <3 .... also id love to see special attention and details towards the face and the facial expression and colors , id say it would be impossible to tell from a common pelt if worked properly of course :3.
