Samwise Gamgee and Bill the Pony from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Their friendship is so cute.I am a huge Bill fan! And also a Sam fan, of course.
More watercolor practice, as you can see. My hobbit-to-pony ratio might well be off, because I didn't use any references, so sorry about that.

Very adorable portrait of Sam and Bill...I really like the soft colors, water colors were a good medium to chose. Also, I think you did a wonderful job on Sam's face, I really like his expression and how realistic his eyes and nose seem to be(you colored his face and skin/lips nicely)

You can really tell how much Sam cares for Bill in this picture, he has such a warm face. Also, your watercolour work is really strong - all the shading just seems to fit in so naturally and I really love how you've done Bill's muzzle.

You should do a Frodo pic! I love Frodo! He makes hairy feet cute. But yeah I love the Sam + Bill friendship too. I'm glad they included it somewhat in the films.

Oh, I definitely agree that I liked the cast a lot (except for Orlando Bloom). I just didn't like some of the scripting and made up things, especially in the second movie. But my reasons are purely personal and subjective.

Yeah I understand what you mean. The first movie is my favorite probably because it the movie that is the most loyal adaptation of the three. They just cut out the Old Forest and I think it would be really cool if they could turn that into a movie and just include some little prologue to show where it fits in the first movie.
