What a start to the season Haven't chased a ton, but we're 0/2 on major setups so far. Wednesday in Wyoming was a bust due to outflow-dominant storms and lack of moisture. Not sure what the missing ingredient was on Saturday in Kansas but what came close to being an amazing evening instead gasped its last breath near Saint Francis, Kansas. Nice dryline, dewpoints in the 55+ range, sufficient instability and very nice shear profiles. My guess would be too much capping in the atmosphere killed off storms before the low-level jet could come in to save them.

Long story short, we drove 6 and a half hours from Rapid City for about 10 minutes on a previously-severe-warned storm. But the good news is we saw some friends I hadn't seen in years, and the 16 hours of total driving went smoothly. Hopefully we'll see a real supercell (or tornado!) before too long

Please tell me what you think!
