This storm had such a cool look! I'm a sucker for deep blue and green tones in clouds and this storm was one of the most colorful of the year. Drove from Rapid City northwest on I-90 and waited for this storm to approach us just west of Spearfish. After this we would hop back on Interstate and keep ahead of the storm all the way down to near Scenic, South Dakota. When we returned back home, we found out that the storm had dropped some pretty massive spiked hail in our neighborhood.

Heck yeah! Much much (several hours) later in its life cycle, this storm did produce a tornado south of Scenic SD.

It's definitely exciting to drive towards something dark on the horizon only for the clouds to reveal their true colors once you get close
