you mind if i ask you about your technique (cuz its really nice). i was looking at alot of you work, and i noticed the edges of the background get dark and look papery(esp. this pic.), how did you manage this effect?

The edges come from a grungy texture with these dark edges, try =Princess-of-Shadows texture packs.
