After watching a group of crows playing in a forest meadow a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd doodle up this image of a pair of Microraptor giving each other the business. Preliminary reports on the pigmentation of Microraptor feathers indicate they were iridescent like crow and grackle feathers. A definite challenge with a mechanical pencil but overall I think this came out ok. These two are blissfully unaware that a nearby volcano is about to erupt and spew smothering ash across all they know. Thanks for looking.Related content

I love the motion and the angles they are shown in here. I hope Microraptors not only looked like crows, but acted like them too, as in here.
