YEAH!! I've been waiting to submit this one. This is my submission for the Capcom Ace attorney tribute contest!! I doubt by now i'm going to win there are a LOT of submissions and all of them are AMAZING!!
I really wanted to do a cake because I figured a lot of people would be drawing. BUT of course the art category wasn't very large so I probably should have taken a stab at it XD.
This cake must have taken like 12 hours. >.<
Ingredients:
Vanilla Icing
Food coloring
Black icing in a tube (for the lines)
red icing in a tube (for the objection)
pain
agony
time
chocolate cake and
vanilla cake
The cake is two separate rectangles of cake, the Miles Edgeworth side is chocolate and the Phoenix wright side is vanilla. So Maya is half (OH BABY LOL) The OBJECTION is a sugar cookie <3
I wanted to do more and with more characters but it is EXTREMELY hard to make characters small when your working with big lines from the icing. In fact I wasn't sure in the end if I was going to end up putting maya in it at all but i'm glad I did. I also struggled a lot with Edgy, not only is he hard to draw but he is even HARDER to put on a cake.

For those of you who wonder what my process is this is what I do:
1. I SPRAY SPRAY AND SPRAAAAAAAAAAAY the tray so that the cake slides off easier and when they're done I let them cool a bit then flip them onto a big big big rectangle tray (it actually used to be a cut from a countertop but we use it as a cuttingboard now so it's pretty big)

2. I cut off the bottom (which used to be the top) so that the surface is flat for when I lay down icing. (I only do this with cakes im going to decorate characters on not sculpt)

3. I mix the first few colors (skin, clothes) I would suggest if your going to be working with a lot of one color to make enough to where you have some extra that way if you mess up it can be fixed (i ended up using 2 containers of icing with some left over) also if your going to take a break and come back the next day make sure your icing is sealed really well because it'll dry out and when you mix it it'll make your icing lumpy and it'll show.

4. I use a knife and cut out the drawing lightly. Dont go all the way through the cake. Your pretty much just lightly drawing it on. Then you block in your colors and after your colors you go back and outline with the black icing tube. It'll look a little funny before the outline but it comes out pretty good in the end.

5. If you're having a hard time with the icing not smoothing over while your doing it dont worry, stick it in the fridge or something till it hardens and then gently use the end of a utensil (or your finger if you dont take if you touch it) and push the icing down so that the parts sticking out flatten

It takes a looooooooong time to get used to things and there will be times where you can mess up (trust me I did a LOT) but its okay you can always wipe off icing and put more on.

Also, people have asked me if I use fondant. I don't really like the fast of it. That's why my cakes aren't smooth XD
I think a cake can look and taste good without all the facy stuff.
Although because of that (and the fact that the cakes I make are super cheap, all store bought stuff) I don't think I can ever do layeredcakes and stuff. But that's okay with me.The people I make cakes for seem to like them so yeah >: D
