Description So here are the other characters that I imagine being in Gryffindor. Yes I realize that not everyone has the same lighting, but eh?

Anyway, I have to skedaddle off to work so I'll put in my reasoning for these character either later tonight or tomorrow I promise.

Jack is a Gryffindor (though I do understand most of you don't agree) because even though he is very ambitious I see him more brave. I've also come to the idea that when you are placed in house it may not necessarily be just because of your personality, but because of where you would most fit in, where your family would be, where you would be able to grow more easily and freely. And I think for jack that would be in Gryffindor because when Jack was most tempted to go with Pitch it was his friends and family, their bravery, their courage that helped pull him back from that. As well as that he still stood firm when everything was at it's darkest.

Anna is a Gryffindor because when everyone thought her sister was a monster she went out into the cold after her without a second thought. She also had to face the realization that the man she thought she loved not only didn't love her back or was using her, but was trying to kill her sister and that didn't even slow her down when protecting her sister from him.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut are in Gryffindor because even though they fight all the time they still know they love each other and will still stick up for each other and I think that that does show a certain amount of bravery to be able rag on someone so intensely and yet still love them enough to stick up for them when it's needed. They also seem to do better around other brave people, as if that helps them remember what their mission is and once they know what that is they will stick with it till the end.

Astrid is in Gryffindor because like Anna she had to face the realization of an inner demon, that she was wrong all along and that the person she had judged so harshly was not only the one who was right, but in order to help him she has to ask for forgiveness (which is easy since he has a crush on her). It can take a lot of courage to realize and accept that you are wrong and especially that most of your life you've been wrong and to take action and change what you've learned.

And lastly Wee Dingwall because even though I'm sure he had about as much say in competing in the tourney for Merida's hand as Merida did, I'm also certain that it must have taken a lot of courage to stand in front of that big of a crowd, with your people anticipating your win when you're lacking such archery skills and yet still trying to do your best (even if it doesn't look like you are). Like I said in the comments as well, I see a young Neville inside our dear Wee Dingwall.

Hope you enjoy!

Also! Forgot to add some character background on them as well!

Jack is a muggle born orphan. I decided on this because of his story and how in Rise of the Guardians he is the only one in his family to have magical powers (I know it's for a different reason than being 'born with it', but I figured it would be an interesting thing to play off of).

Anna is pure-blood since both she and her sister have powers and it would be unlikely, not impossible, that two children have magical powers in a muggle born family. I also like to think that the 'royalty' in these movies are like the high-class of the wizarding world because it just kind of fits in my head.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut are hafl-bloods. I have no real reason for making them this way except that I wanted a little more diversity in my story and I just think it kind of fits who they are I guess.

Astrid is pure-blood as it seems her family is rather prominent and well thought of in How to Train Your Dragon. Long line of true vikings and all that.

Wee Dingwall is pure-blood because, once again, he comes from royal blood and to me that translates into pure-blood for a Harry Potter AU.

Yeah I'll explain Jack here in a little bit and I tried to include as many of the other minor characters as I could because they deserve some notice as well Wee Dingwall sort of reminds me of first year Neville

I don't know about that, but personality-wise he definitely reminds me of wee Neville a bit.
