Description Oh they all look so worried XD

Anyway here are the characters I imagine being in Ravenclaw (and don't take it as a testament to Gryffindor just because I imagined more character in there, it's just how things worked out). I also tried a little harder to get the lighting on all of them to not only fit each other but the room as well.

Hiccup is in Ravenclaw because his want to learn, mostly. In How to Train Your Dragon he starts at a point of trying to fit in the with the others by killing a dragon, but because of his true nature of curiosity and researching what he doesn't know he is the one that discovers that dragons aren't actually the enemy. It was because of his want to learn that ended up saving the dragons. He is also a handy inventor and I think, though he is surrounded by mostly Gryffindors, he would grow best as a Ravenclaw. I think this because he is so passionate about learning that it would benefit him to be around people with that same passion, who speak the same language and would get excited about the new things he learned along with him because (at least in my experience) when surrounded by people like that you get the momentum that you need to learn even more and just keep going and going.

Wee MacGuffin is in Ravenclaw because he is insightful in ways that others in the movie aren't. He was also a bit harder to place because he only has three lines and we aren't meant to understand them, so I had to do some research in order to place him. I went here ( loreandlit.blogspot.com/2013/0… ) for my answers because I found some people who had translated what his lines were. But his second line (though there is some debate on it) is along the lines of "I'm going to see what it was, I can't take his word". Not to say Ravenclaws are untrusting, but to me this just shows a good level of curiosity. His last line is "It's just not fair making us fight for the hand of a girl who doesn't want anything to do with it. You know?" This is the insight that I was talking about, this was after Merida made her speech about how they should be able to pick who they marry based on who they love. Another big trait of a Ravenclaw that not many people know is uniqueness which Wee MacGuffin certainly fulfills with his speech. I also think he would fit in great in Ravenclaw and be able to grow more there because I feel out of all of the houses there would probably be more in Ravenclaw who would actually be able to understand him.

Elsa is in Ravenclaw because of her intuition. When Anna is so blind with love, Elsa still saw through Hans' guise (at least a little) and knew not to trust him, let alone to let Anna marry him. She unique not only because of her abilities, but also because of how both she and her sister want freedom and yet they have different ways of going about it. And even though she does hold the Slytherin quality of looking after herself, I think that she thinks of her kingdom just as much, that running away wasn't just for her, but for her kingdom because since she held her powers back for so long she wouldn't know what she could do and so in order to protect her people from the unknown I believe also went into her reasoning of leaving and not going back. She also does return in the end when she knows more about how to control her powers, when it was safe for her and her people. Knowing this kind of stuff and basing a decision on it shows a level of self-awareness that I think often goes hand in hand with being wise. She knew that she didn't know her limits and it shows a great level of wisdom to know where your limits are, but also to know you don't know (or the lack of knowledge).

Fishlegs is in Ravenclaw because, as they made it rather obvious I think in How to Train Your Dragon, of his love to learn. He is always wanting to check with the book of dragons first before making a judgement. Even though he is a learner, like Hiccup, the two learn very differently and I think it's good to show the variety of ways to learn and that both can find a home within this particular house. Hiccup is more of a hands on learner, he likes to experience things and learn from those experiences, while Fishlegs more of the stereotypical Ravenclaw in that he is a book learner. He prefers to learn things out of books, research from other peoples' experiences and while that may not sound quite as glamorous or "helpful" (for lack of a better word) as learning from one's own experiences it can be more so because we can only experience so much within one lifetime, but learning from books you can learn a lot more. And like a briefly mentioned earlier about judgement, I think it is a very big Ravenclaw quality to hold off on judging something until you learn more about it. Yes, Fishlegs does go along with the idea that "dragons are evil", however if I remember correctly, he was the first after Hiccup to realize that that judgement was wrong.

I hope you enjoy this character analysis and if you have any questions or your own thoughts on these characters being in Ravenclaw or another house I would love to hear them in the comments. Just please keep things respectful as not everyone will agree (with me or you). Thank you

Forgot, again as well as the others, to put down character history for this Harry Potter Au.

Hiccup is pure-blood because in How to Train Your Dragon he is the chief's son and thus as royal as you can get in the viking world and as I said repeatedly in the Gryffindor post, royalty from these movies translates in to pure-blood in my head. It also makes the most sense as his father is the Headmaster at Hogwarts that he has come from a long line of wizards and witches.

Wee MacGuffin, like Wee Dingwall, is pure-blood and for the same reasons..because they come from long lines of 'pure-blood' royalty.

Elsa is a pure-blood as well (and I'll just copy and paste from Anna's explanation) since both she and her sister have powers and it would be unlikely, not impossible, that two children have magical powers in a muggle born family. I also like to think that the 'royalty' in these movies are like the high-class of the wizarding world because it just kind of fits in my head.

Fishlegs is muggle-born because 1) I wanted diversity in my story and 2) it just seemed to fit the way he acted. I know that the Weasleys are pure-blood and they tend to act more humbly, however, I also think that I vaguely remember that that is kind of uncommon for pure-bloods (I could be wrong and if I am please let me know).
