Description Just for kicks: I thought I'd try doing a simple color job on this "pre-production" portrait of X-Factor by Bob Layton, circa 1985, featuring the team in one of their unused early uniform designs. I followed what I guessed was the idea for the color schemes: black suits with a second color for contrast, and matching belts. (I figure Iceman's uniform, when he's "defrosted", is black with light blue.)

Did they really have non-blue Hank have this hair?

Yeah, pretty much; when he recovered from the mutation-reversal treatment to which he'd been subjected (issue #3) and was no longer furry, he had a quasi-Wolverine hairstyle, which was colored a bluish-gray. For this piece, though, I went with his original reddish-brown hair color.
