Description The visions dancing in my mind
The early dawn, the shades of time
Twilight crawling through my windowpane
Am I awake or do I dream?
The strangest pictures I have seen
Night is day and twilight's gone away

ELO ~ Twilight ~ 1981

Inspired by this song and the fantastic "Lila Black" SciFi-books.

This one is for Sabby I used her V4 character "Rayne" for the Elf and the Techno-woman available at Rendo [link] Thanks a lot dear

This is a pic I wanted to create for quite some time. Both worlds are rendered in one go in one scene!!!

Used toolchain: Poser 6/7 -> interPOSER(Ltd/Pro) -> Cinema4D V9.5 XL -> PhotoshopCS3

fredy. your artwork is FANTASTIC. i absolutely love it.

now. i am unfamiliar with this wonderful type of art.

now. do you actually draw these, or do you use a computer program?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fredy3D In reply to Badwolf2012 [2008-08-17 21:51:30 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It is all done with computer software. It is a three step process for me:

1. Using a program "Poser" to create/pose/cloth the characters
2. Using a program "Cinema 4D" where I modify the figures from step 1. I setup the scene, lights, camera and let the computer calculate the pic.
3. When the picture is calculated I import it into photoshop and do some color correction, paint additional fine details like hair etc.

The whole process takes around 6-10 hours for each pic

Awesome. Thanks. This might come in handy.

Now. did you buy the software, or did you download them?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fredy3D In reply to Badwolf2012 [2008-09-11 15:25:38 +0000 UTC]

I am a professional software developer on my own and want to get paid for work, so the answer is quite easy: yes, I have of course bought each and every piece of software I use.

It took some years, some money and some upgrade paths to reach my current selection of software tools. But it was well worth the money.

Nevertheless: You can get a lot of free software, for example DAZ/Studio, a 3D character program, Blender a 3D all around package, gimp instead of photoshop...

Boaaaaaaaah, Fredy!!!!

I like it ^^ except for the blend between sky and panels. compared to the ground you cheated and made it black lol

Otherwise I like the comparison and concept as always

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fredy3D In reply to SkadiWu [2008-05-23 16:07:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks... but erm... the sky is a transition from a dark green/black techno background to a daylight sky background...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SkadiWu In reply to Fredy3D [2008-05-25 03:00:18 +0000 UTC]

lol I know. I'm just saying compared to the cool blend of the ground. The sky blend isnt as intriquet. However you spell that word

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fredy3D In reply to SkadiWu [2008-05-25 06:27:44 +0000 UTC]

True true, going from dark bright clouds to nearly black is of course a bigger challenge... with the ground is was much easier

I really like the concept, the meeting and cross-over of night and day, reality and fantasy, light and darkness. There's something about the right hand side part of the image, with the outdoor scene, that makes me think of the past, but the past in another dimenion, before technology struck. It's like past meeting future. Beautiful.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fredy3D In reply to EveryNextDream [2008-05-21 15:39:46 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot Yes, I tried to make it different on multiple levels as you wrote. Past/Future, robotic/alive etc etc. The viewer should have some fun in finding all those small parts

Digital-Kisses [2008-05-21 09:49:18 +0000 UTC]
