It had been a rather busy day at the bank for Joanna Williams and at this point she was simply looking forward to a relaxing evening at home.Which was why she didn't appreciate the unexpected turn her evening took while she was locking up the bank with her assistant manager Justin Keller."I really hate how early it gets dark in these winter months."He was saying as Joanna finished turning the key in lock."It feels like the day is already over by the time we finish locking up."Joanna looked up at the already dark sky,it certainly gave the appearance of already being seven or eight o clock even though it was only a little past six."It's just the way it is at this time of the year." she responded dryly."Besides I rather like it."Just as she and Justin turned to leave however she suddenly heard a loud noise coming from the street.Looking down the road she saw a flashy red sports car hurtling down the road at a dangerous speed,hot on it's heels was a police car giving chase.As she watched she noticed a man wearing a hoodie leaning out of the back window of the vehicle with a small sub-machine gun in hand.Reacting immediately she grabbed Justin and pulled him down as the two cars rushed past,the passenger of the vehicle in front spraying bullets at their pursuer.Though none of the bullets even came close Joanna reflexively extended a electromagnetic field around them in case of a stray bullet.Once the two cars had passed Justin looked up from the ground where he'd been cowering which had mercifully prevented him from seeing Joanna using her powers."What the hell was that!?"He asked in a shaky voice."Looks like a couple of hoodlums causing trouble."Joanna said angrily before quickly checking Justin over."Are you alright?"Justin nodded nervously,obviously shaken by the experience."Y-yeah.I think so.But seriously if someone doesn't stop those guys someone else won't be so lucky."The same thought had already crossed Joanna's mind and she decided to do something about it."It looks like the police are doing what they can but it's not enough."She placed her hand on Justin's shoulder."You head straight home alright?The streets don't look like a safe place to be this evening."Justin nodded his head."You've got that right.What about you Miss Williams?"She pulled her car keys out of her bag."I'll be doing the same.Take care Justin."She quickly walked away and around the side of the building towards the nearby car-park.While she would have liked to have given Justin a lift to ensure he got home safely she knew that stopping those maniacs was her first concern.Instead of heading to her car she slipped into a small alcove that lay between the side of the building and the car-park and that she knew from experience was hidden from view.Dropping her handbag on the ground she reached up and deftly loosed her long dark hair from the tight and tidy bun she wore it in during her job.After kicking off her heels she then slipped off her suit jacket and trousers and hastily unbuttoned her blouse to reveal the skintight black and gold costume she wore underneath.She quickly reached into the bottom of her handbag and carefully pulled on a small tab that lifted up a false bottom to it where she kept her mask,gloves and boots.After donning the gloves and boots she carefully put on the mask completing her transformation into the shocking super-villainess know as Voltra!

After carefully concealing her clothes and bag as best she could she took a small running start and gracefully leapt into the air while generating a electromagnetic field that carried her into the sky.Rising up above the city beneath her Voltra carefully cast her gaze across the city beneath her for a sign of the chase that had sped past her minutes before.At her speed it didn't take her long to locate her quarry,she could see them far beneath her heading up Victoria avenue.Breaking into a dive Voltra swooped down on her prey like a falcon.She leveled out at street level and maneuvered herself above the vehicle before extending her electromagnetic field around the hoodlums car and lifting it into the air with her.She smiled to herself wickedly as she heard the sounds of panic emanating from inside the vehicle as the shocked thugs found themselves swept into the sky.Spotting a nearly empty car-park below she lowered herself and her cargo before releasing the vehicle from the field,it plummeted a few meters before smashing into the ground and rolling over due to the speed at which she'd released it.She however came to a gentle landing a few short feet away and strode towards to car to inspect it's occupants.One of the men who seemed to be the gunman climbed out of the back window off the car,a a little roughed up but otherwise okay.Voltra came to a halt and placed her hands on her hips,taking on a authoritative stance before addressing the man."It looks like your wild ride is over."The man groggily stumbled to his feet while pointing his gun at her."Bloody bitch!"He spat."You've ruined everything!"Voltra laughed contemptuously"Oh put that stupid gun down and save yourself the bother".The man however was either too dazed from the crash to see reason or just plain stupid as he pulled the trigger.Voltra had been expecting his reaction and was prepared for his attack,The bullets harmlessly ricocheted of her barrier hitting the tarmac or walls as he held down the trigger until his clip was empty.For a moment he stared stupidly at his gun as though it were the weapons fault before he threw it at her as though somehow this would accomplish something.The empty weapon was harmlessly deflected aside as she stepped towards him deciding to end this farce before it got any more silly.She saw him readying himself to throw a swing at her and nimbly stepped forward at blinding speed throwing an uppercut at his unguarded jaw.Had she used the full measure of her amazing strength the man wouldn't have had a head left on his shoulders but Voltra was careful to only use a minimal amount of force,just enough to render him unconscious and nothing more.With him finally out of the way she decided to check on the driver.He too was unconscious from the crash and as far as she could tell there wasn't any serious damage,in the back seat however was a dufflebag filled with money.She paused for a moment considering leaving it but thought better of it,after all she had stopped two dangerous men from causing any further harm and done the police's job for them.Smiling she took the bag of money and stepped away from the car.She could hear the sirens from the police car slowly getting closer and so decided it was time to take her leave.Bending her legs for a moment she braced herself and leapt upwards into the night sky.
