Description
One of five 'playing cards' due for my first project in Introduction to Illustration. The project is to make five 'playing cards' of your own character/design. These can be an animal or super hero or whatever you like. I chose to do dinosaurs, since I've been drawing these guys since I was like four.My Utahraptor was the first to be finished (his design is my favorite of all five).
Ace: Spinosaur
King: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Queen: Pterodactyl
Jack: Utahraptor
Joker: Compsognathus
The others will be posted as they are finished. Still a couple weeks til these are due.
No references used except one picture for the armor, other than that everything in this picture is all my design. Thanks for looking.

Oh, wow. This has such awesome designs and details! And the idea itself is just epic! ^^ The leg guards make me think Japanese armor. Was your ref pic of samurai armor, perhaps? Either way, so damn cool. @_@ I really like the helmet, although all of the armor is great.
I have always loved raptors. Utahraptors especially. And even more so after reading the book "Raptor Red." I first read the book in elementary, but then I kept going back to my uncle to borrow it for another read. And then.. he finally just gave me the book. I was so happy.
