This was taken the first day at the school in BuTuo, Sichuan on the Spring Blossom trip, pretty soon after we stepped into the school courtyard. There were hundreds of little children just standing at the edges with their backs to the walls, too afraid to come and talk to us. I couldn't see very many girls at the point, so when I found these two, I went over and tried to talk to them. Extremely shy, they wouldn't say anything, but when I showed them this photo off my digital, their eyes lit up with amusement. Over the next few days, the children there warmed up to us considerably. The girls would smile at us, hug us and ask us to take photos together and the boys would roar at me, tag me and then run away.This is probably one of my favourites from the trip. It's not the most beautiful shot, but it is the one that captures the atmosphere at the moment the most.
