If I see a style I really like and wish I could see my characters drawn that way, I try my best to emulate it; it's good practice, and helps me evolve my own style (thinking outside the box sort of thing)

I wouldn't say that. If I were to simplify it, I would say that it is based on a dynamic anatomy with applied perspective on the chest and feet, with a overall simplified clothes design but very rich in details
