Description Large picture. Shrunk down a lot.

Started this couple weeks ago. Felt like drawing my version of the rebooted Moonglo that Hallmark released in 2009... which led to my redrawing the old Moonglo from a drawing I did in 2009 (coincidence! hee!), which led me to thinking about how I read that the original designer of Moonglo wanted her to have white hair, making her more moony. That somehow led to me designing a new Moonglo, and slapping all three into one pic.

It's now my head-cannon that Moonglo, the magical thing she is, doesn't have a set appearance. At her core she stays the same (bone structure and whatnot) but color, clothes, opacity, it can all change on a whim.

Also, I know that the cannon spelling of her name is Moonglow with that "w" at the end, but I can't help spelling "my" Moonglo without it.

Moonglow belongs to Hallmark.

I believe the middle is moon glow at the peek of her power aka ultra moon glow or something like that. this is just beautiful.

I love this! Such a wonderful piece! I love your idea for how to incorporate the new look of moonglow into the story as well. For me I was just too attached to MG's original look to accept the new purple one when the new line started. I like this though and I love the new one you invented! Love how it is based on some actual history too! Very cool.

I know what you mean about the new RB line's look, I can't accept it as it is, but it turned out to be fun to play with. I almost wanted the new line's Moonglow doll, because the purples were pretty, but I am way too attached and loyal to the original show/designs.

And thanks! The new one, ugh! Took forever! But worth it. I'm afraid it doesn't match up with the rainbow brite-verse of clothes, but I did my best. Glad you like it! (yay history!)

I don't think its that far off... plus I don't think it needs to be SUPER aligned because she seems to be this sorta ethereal queen type person. I think its perfect.

I'm going to have to move the redesigned moonglo up on my commission list so you can see what i have planned for her.

cool reminds me of sailor moon going into super sailor moon and then eternal sailor moon! haha
funny thing with the white hair, i think a lot of us evisisage it matching the glow of the moon... in our RP Moonglo's daughter Twilight has long white hair, until she chops it off later in act of rebellion! lol

Thanks, her Fullname is Twilight Breeze because her father is one of our ocs Called Wind Blaire so links the two elements of her parents ^^

This is lovely. I like your idea that she changes appearance and perhaps each of these are how she appears in another world or to another set of people. I feel like the middle is her revealing her true goddess aspect, the right she's a witch or a princess, and the left is her simply a girl (as simple as it gets for her).

I didn't know they wanted to give her white hair; that would have been cute.

I like your three designs of her. They could be for the different phases of the moon or Pink Moonglo is how she looks at day, blue at night and white while using the full strength of her powers.

Moonglow's original design had her exactly the same as she appears in the cartoon, just with white hair, but the designer's boss thought it made her look like an old woman, so it was changed to pink. I find tidbits like that fascinating. I wish it were possible to see character sketches for all the characters, see what could have been.
