Download for even bigger size.I can't believe I finally finished this thing! I started it on August 5th. for crying out loud. Sooo glad to be done with it.
So here is Moonglow (center) and the as yet un-named clones of hers. At least I think they are clones. At the least they are lab experiments. Moonglow was a joke character that first showed up in the "Baby Bots" deviation in my gallery (in the other fanart folder... For some reason dA isn't letting me copy and paste the link). The rest of these bots are inspired by the awesomeness of and the wonderfulness she has shared with me over the years. Of course, all my TFA stuff is inspired by her wonderful crazy view of the TFA-verse. Go blame her. She's awesome.

I have a name for the Sailor Mars based clone: it's Moonflare.

A possible name for the Sailor Mercury based clone: Hermia (after Hermes, the Greek name for Mercury).

Hahaha, oh man, I just realized that Chibi-Moon is the only one of the sailors I haven't even doodled as a TFA bot. Hehe, silly me.

This is gorgeous! It's both beautiful and hilarious. The bots look great and you definitely succeeded in making them so much more than just recolors of Moonglow.
Poor Moonglow- she looks scared, like she's just realized she might be in over her head. "Venus" looks concerned, but not nearly as much as "Mercury"! And "Jupiter" is going to punch something, darn it! (We do need to come up with names for these girls- clever ones.) Yeah, they're clones. I'll have to come up with an official explanation for this, but blaming Perceptor still works for me.
Ha, even your background is clever. Both the manga and anime love setting the senshi against backdrops with a lace-like pattern- you've made the Cybertronian equivalent here with gears!

Thanks! I was thinking of you and that ficlette you sent me whenever I was working on this, or at least I was whenever I wasn't growling at whichever bot for being difficult. ^^ And yay! I definitely didn't want them to be just recolors. That's probably one of the really appealing things about Slipstream, she wasn't just a recolor. She looked like him, but different. And I figured Perceptor would experiment between making one and the other, trying to perfect them, or at least trying to replicate Moonglow's scream-beam.
Yes! They need names! I'd think of that everytime I made a new layer in this thing (mars ink, mars color, mars shadows, etc). Jupiter was the first I did after Moonglow, and I thought up different names while working on it, but I didn't pause what I was doing to write it down, so they are gone. Some of them may have been inspired by some of Jupiter's attacks, but I'm not sure. I remember conidering "Flame Sniper" for the Marsbot. I think I was stuck on attacks. I also listened to the song "Fire Soul Bird in Love" a few time while working on it, which made me think of their attacks (listened to a lot of Sailor Moon music while working on it).
Yay gears! So glad I have a gears brush in my brush collection in photoshop for some reason (downloaded so many brushes during college... bleh, where did they come from?) I was so worried the background would end up obnoxious, like the original Moonglow character studies (such ugly, ugly bg!). Rather pleased with it, which is nice after all the dread it gave me, so I'm super happy you like it!

You're right, that is something that makes her intriguing- close, but not quite the same. Just different enough to make you wonder what more is beyond the surface.
For names, I was thinking perhaps of things related to their elements or planets- rather than say, Mercury, a play on the word like Quicksilver. But I like the idea of making them references to their attack names. That opens up a lot of options, including some romantic ones. (Take it a step further, should the name be tied to what the robot's power is? Say that Mecury bot's name is based on the Shine Aqua Illusion attack- that her name is Aqua Illusion or just Illusion. Does she have the ability to manipulate holograms then?) It might help to decide how they get their names. Does Perceptor give them to them? Or do they come up with them on their own? (Does Moonglow pick them when she meets them? Does she defer to Wisp and Nightwail on this?)
