First attempt at a stamp. Can you tell?
For all my Monster Rancher-lovin' peeps out there, since I couldn't find a stamp for it. D: Used 's stamp base.

Yup! I've wanted to make a couple variations with some of the individual monsters for ages, but I can never kick myself into the right "gear" for it. As it were.

I recently found this show again after browsing youtube. I started it on Thursday and finished Season 1 yesterday ha ha. I remember watching it when I was 6! Good times.
The animation is really good, I find. Not like today's animation xD;

Personally, I believe the TV series had pretty potential.
If Tecmo had entered more deeply into the civilization's history which created those creatures since the beginning, I think (no offending Digimon/Pokemon) it could've been one of the most deep, beautiful, dark and interesting monster sagas.
But it never explored its content, probably due to the Dig/Pok popularity, being always awkward in its way of showing itself, sometimes kiddie and cliched (3rd season), sometimes mature (2nd season and its end), finally ending incomplete, I believe...
The monster collection they had was so interesting, most of all based in religion and historical mythology. The human population was composed by multiple cultures, and then the biotechnology with its ethic of life and science... (I enjoy these kind of New Age/Pagan things probably a little too much 
But seriously, something that never explored its potential!

The second season's ending was dark as sin, wasn't it? An the thir was dubbed, but never released. The later games in the series seem to have retconned some of that history, but sometimes don't. The games have an exceedingly confusing canon.

...Yeah! I can't believe that after all these years (I was thirteen years old) I still cry a little when I see that episode
But it's probably one of the major reasons why I watch that series (I'm a cold-hearted person).
As for the games I don't know very much. They never came to Portugal in 2003/04.
There was some publicity, but was just that.
It never became popular and the odd plotting must be due to competition insecurity, I don't know... (maybe I'm making a big deal upon something that isn't clearly what it seems to be, just like the The Lion King vs Kimba the White Lion happening)
Maybe is completely playing like Farmville which surprises me even more, being FarmVille such a tremendously popular and addictive game.
Most information I know came from Wikipedia - lol 0_o at the fact they didn't share their technology because of racism...
Other great episodes I can categorize:
- Holly's Birthday (beautiful and touching) 
- Goodbye Baku
- All is Fare in Love and Taxis (It has a great paradox at the end.)
- Brothers, in the Greatest Four (Our favourite dynamic duo since Tiger/Hare)
- Pink Jam to the Rescue (Very funny 
The third season wasn't bad actually. It was the Legend Cup concept that I didn't enjoyed.
And its end with Genki staying in that world... waht?
Even Tama and Hare (though it was cliched) - from Saved by a Hare had a promising deal (of romance?)
Yes, and we have Tiger and Hare which I don't exclude (they have some chemical)...
What it's strange it's how you would interpret them...
They behave like a lil bro/old bro pair.
Hare is a vivacious (but very sensible) character and likes to be in a group. Tiger would see him as a replacement for his lost little brother.
Being androgynous and assexual, already funded together (they wouldn't like it for too long), I can't see where's the real goal of being mated 
(I've been challeging myself and training my writing with a "serious" fanfiction sequel, as I could have the Monster Rancher copyright, so I have been paying attention to these subjects)
If these creatures are based in mythology, Hare has something related with the Three Hares -- > [link] circular motif and the symbol of eternity, Triskle - he is the most charismatic and likes to be the first one at starting some project.
He is the most optimistic and flirtatious of the group.
Plus, he is the first one who will surely have a relationship with the antagonist (be good or bad)...
Tiger must be based by the Fluid and Hydrostatic Pressure - that would explain why these creatures have such fierce temperaments, the "sharp" design in the original version and prefer high spots like mountains and valleys in cold environments because in these places exists more tension between cold and warm atmospheric circulations -- > [link]

Sorry for not responding for... Ever. But I wasn't sure what to say, given that I was always more into the games than the anime. Don't get me wrong--I liked the show too! But the games ere really my main focus. I always did like Tiger and Hare, though. Their dynamic was great, and yes, a little pairing-y.
But my favorite in the show was Golem, sweet as he was. I'm a sucker for giant scary guys who are actually very nice.

That's pretty awesome! I can't speak German, but it sounds nice to me... Luckily, since this is from a kid's show, I won't end up like that family in that infamous Dutch ad... XD
There was a Dutch commercial, you see, for a place that taught English, where a family is in a car and turns on an English song... and it's all swear words. XD

Once I can find some good art, I'm planning on making some stamps for the monsters as well. But good pictures are hard to find, and although LegendCup has some, they're small. :<

Press kits are sets of official art, screenshots, and promo pictures given to the press for decorating their articles with. Like, if a magazine were to do an article on MRDS, they could use the official Lesione art. Also sometimes released are "fan-site kits," which are pretty much the same thing. Some sites upload their presskits to Flickr or other services. Very useful resources, if you can find them!
