∆ Held Item:
Poison Barb - Powers up Poison-Type moves.
He found it while thinking of joining the Trainers. It was beside the building, a bit dusty, like it had been forgotten. Mato took this opportunity to become stronger, and without thinking, he stabbed into his ear, only to find out later he didn't have to do that to hold an item. In recent times, the barb has gone missing, though he hasn't made a big deal out of it.
In past events, the Bard had been stolen from him, and he hasn't found it since. However, he did pick up a new one from the shops, although it doesn't suit any of his moves, it's a sentimental value more than use.

Kit-hood:
Mato was an only kit. His mother was a Dustox and his father was a Scorpio. His parents lead a very secretive life, often coming home form 'work' battered, bruised and worn out. One night, Mato decided to follow them to their 'work' one night. He followed them to an old, abandoned workhouse. Out of the shadows stepped Rocket Grunts, all very intimidating and larger than his parents. Frozen in fear, Mato didn't catch their conversations, but realised the situation was escalating quickly, as his father was yelling and a fire-type Grunt stepped forward and knocked him down. His parents were quickly beaten with fire and the like, and as Mato went to help his motionless parents, the fire-type spotted him and gave him a wicked snarl. Mato ran as fast as he could, never seeing his parents again.
As the crime was slowly solved, Mato was placed in an Orphanage until he could be found a new family.
Teens:
Gorwing up as a weak Wurmple doesn't have a lot of advantages. He was a constant target for bullying from others, picking on his features, stature and putting down any hopes of having a future. From this he became anti-social and a grouch, growing up isolated. When it came to adoptions, he would watch other kids with burning jealousy as they found their new homes, wishing he could be in their positions. He ended up never being never adopted because of his personality.
Overhearing the chance of becoming a Trainer, battling and becoming stronger, he believed he found a goal in life. After watching trainers and battles himself he decided that he would become a powerful Dustox and battle the Elite Four. However, he was given the nickname of Worm when he constantly tried to train by himself.
Fire and Brimstone:
Confused by the evacuation, he didn't feel much from sailing away from the Island, never feeling like he had belonged their.
New island, new life:
Arriving on the Island meant the start of his new life, and now being old enough he could start his becoming a Trainer. Focusing on his Training, the thought of becoming a powerful Trainer fills him with determination keeps him busy from interacting with others and having a very social life although he's surrounded by many friendly faces.
Arrival of the Kalosians:
Mato took little action in the war, as he felt that his abilities of being a trainer would only burden everyone else at that time. He didn't really understand what was happening, so he tried to leave the conflict alone as much as he could, only finding out how devastating the war was as the serious injuries started to show up, and then the corpses.
He found out about Mizu's friend dying during the fight, but was clueless in knowing how to help her through the dark time.
After the War: Through a training session with Mizu, he evolved into a Silcoon, halting his idea of becoming a powerful Dustox and having negative effects of his self confidence. Although Mizu had offered words of encouragement, uplifting him for a time, Mato started to form himself a cocoon of self pity, Mato became grouchy and selfish, spending days that followed alone, not really focusing on anything.
He soon encountered a young Helioptile by the name of Stella. He was training in the battle yard, and had her bounce up to him. Stella was just full of happiness, and the two formed a close relationship pretty quickly, forming a makeshift brother-sister bond. Mato found out that Stella had also lost her family, and that no-one was there for her. Hoping to help her through better than he was doing for Mizu, he took her under this wing and started to train her in becoming a trainer. Having her around made the Silcoon forget his woes of his selfish pondering of his evolution and made him overall a happier pokecat.
Recently many items of Mato's have been going missing form his room, such as his posters, carpets, and now his Poison Bard has disappeared! Hoping to not bring anyone down, though, he hasn't spoken about it much, as he's heard many other important items are missing, such as Stella's special Glaceon ribbons.
Harbingers of Flood
During the attack, Mato was near the shoreline and went to help in anyway he could. He met Teal while also evolving mid-battle with the Shellos and Gastrodon. Teal saved Mato while he's frozen in shock by his evolution. Without knowing the true identity of Teal being a Rocket, Mato befriends her. They planned on teaching Mato how to fly after the incident.
Hibernation
For an unknown reason, both Mato and Stella disappeared for a long, long time. After the time when the Deoxy attacked, they were spotted again, but not questioned on their whereabouts, although they both look confused, and a little scared between the two.
∆ Personality ∆
____________________
∆ Hardheaded: After watching his Father die and having his Mother abandon him, Mato can only see the world practically, realistically and with no sentiment. Because of this, he never daydreams and will only strive to do the best that he thinks is possible. However, as he's becoming more mature and being softer with his statements and actions, letting his compassionate side become more visible.
∆ Hasty: Even though he can be realistic and piratical, he can make wrong judgements and sometimes make careless moves because he does action over thinking. While training he focuses on becoming more strategic and stop rushing into battle. Because of his evolution, Mato has become more powerful, and his hastiness is starting to show again.
∆ Arrogant: Because of his Hasty nature, he can be really bigheaded and full of himself. Even when he was weak, he tried to act tough and smooth with everyone. When he was being bullied, you'd think he would become more humble? no, it just made him tougher and more sure of his goal. His evolution into a Beautifly, his arrogant has become more noticeable.
∆ Compassionate: However much he'll rush into a fight or make the last come-back, Mato can listen to another cat or see how they feel, and even try to help them in ways he can. When a younger cat is in trouble or some others cats are giving another some trouble, he'll be the one to step in to help them, even if he doesn't know them. This characteristic will probably help him to gain friends in the future, if he doesn't come up with a sly comment for them first.

Mizu | Trainer | Finneon |
"When we met at the Halloween attack, you saved my butt from those creepy ghosts, and I guess I returned the favour and saved you. It's just too bad we couldn't talk more, you having to go and save the day like that. I haven't talked to you much, but I heard you evolved, and I think it really suits you. I know you probably don't feel the same way about me, but maybe if we spent some more time together... Well... we could just be friends if you wanted."
"Now that I've trained with you a bit, I'm really impressed by how strong you are. I hope I'll never have to meet you in a battle on the opposite side, You'd absolutely kick my butt. I was really surprised I evolved, and was even more when I evolved into a silcoon. It wasn't suppose to happen... I was going to be the coolest Dustox... but you were excited, so I guess it'll be okay."
"You... You're actually gone. I never got to say goodbye or... tell you how i felt. I was a terrible... friend... and...a-and..."
Aire | Ranger | Swellow |
"Do you really need to be so cheerful and annoyingly friendly? I guess it's not so great of me to think negatively of you, I mean, you were only trying to be nice to me... I guess I'm just use to that. Also, there's something about you that just... makes my pelt crawl... like I should be afraid of you? It may just be natural instinct..."
Sol | Ranger | Absol |
"I guess you're good at your job, but do you really need to be so... whats the phrase... distrusting of everyone? Really, I guess you were just doing your job, and there is a need to be suspicious of everyone, but still..."
∆ Role-Playing example ∆
Taken from rp, Hazelblink
Laying in the underneath coverage of the high-perch tree, Hazelblink scratches at the ground impatiently watching the sun. Amberstar had given the orders to not go hunting in the day, and that the only hunting done would be as the sun rises and it goes down. Hazelblink hated not doing anything all day, trying to sneak to the river to cool down, Amberstar had put her under strict orders to stay in the camp and wait until the sun went down to go out. Now as the sun came closer to the sea, ((is it called the sea? I can't remember xD)) Hazelblink stood up and stretched, sure that it was the longest time she had done nearly nothing productive.
Looking around, she could only see a few warriors getting about, when she saw a pure white pelt among them. Walking around, getting her legs moving, Hazelblink finds herself walking over to the white cat. Her name was Sugarcane, but really they weren't that close, even though they were about the same age. All Hazelblink knew about her was she was once a loner. Taking a breath in, Hazelblink makes the final steps toward the warrior.
"Umm, hi there. W-would you like to go hunting?"
