I promised my self that I wouldn't get back into the Merlin fandom... to addictive. But, how can I do that when your beautiful art makes me want to read billions of fics until I can't stay awake anymore... Amazing artwork!

So I know that about a year ago you told me you couldn't be sorry about hooking me back on Merlin fics. Well, in all honesty I didn't get hooked. Until last week. So uh, this is kinda weird and out of the blue and I don't even really know you but do you have any suggestions for Merlin fics? I've been away for a very long time and I'm not sure where to begin anymore.

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful! The drawings are lifelike with an amazing likeness and so much emotion. (And I definitely agree that we can always use more hurt!Merlin [but as long as he gets better after!])

Absolutely gorgeous. Your work is astounding. The realism is near perfect. I can only guess how many hours you spent on even the tiniest places! Thank you so much for posting your work on this website so that us Merthur fans are able to bask in the joy and amazingness of your art!!
I love this so much. Just really great job, I don't have any words. Hahaha.

Oh my gods, thank you so much for the lovely words! It actually took a while, but I'm happy with the results (well mostly), so I guess it was worth it.

Fantastic!! The likenesses are spot on! I also love the bird pattern in the hospital gown - nice touch! The cold monochrome really works with Arthur's feels too.Β

Also can I just add that I just loved your art seeing it at the claims? Need some time to read the fic already up (and literally can't wait for the next one) and probably then I will get to any commenting, but I just wanted you to know you did marvellous job there.

Wait is that a rhetorical question? I really can never tell. In case it wasn't:
The first thing is the idea. Sound ridiculous, but it's the hardest step. You just need to see what you are going to draw in your head. What comes next for me is research: I tend to end up with ton of reference pictures. More often then not the elements you wanna use will not come from one photo so the option "cut" in photoshop ends up as your new best friend, not to mention that studying faces of your characters balances at the verge of obsession and being creepy. Me and Colin's face? We go waaaay back and we still have issues with each other. Few anatomy problems later I get line art that I'm going to fill later on.
The next part is choosing your colour scheme - I'm one of this weird people who can't make fully coloured art after drawing in back and white, so this step I need to decide what I want to end up with. Only then I start filling out the blank places, and, this part is even weirder, I mostly use basic photoshop's brushes as I still need to get my shit together and learn how to use other kinds. I like to start with the details, because only then I see any progress, so I go with the faces first (and here from eyes and mouth to nose to skin), hair and body parts next. After that I usually do clothes, things on the first plan. The background is the last. Many hours and tears later I kinda have an art. At this point, if I want them, I add textures.
You would think that's the end, but no it's not. Here I go with all kinds of adjustments with light and shadow, contrast, brightness, sometimes adding a colour like blue here. Really, all kind of stuff and not only for art as a whole but for parts of it as well (example: Arthur's shirt probably have about 4-5 different adjustments).
Of course while drawing you don't want to forget to flip horizontal your art from time to time and take breaks from looking at it. It will allow you to see the most obvious mistakes. You would think that you will get them all? Others? Probably. Me? Nope. So I keep bugging my friend to check the art at random points and she offers me a lot of advice. If you want to bug someone, it's the best to take someone not afraid to call you on your shit - the more critical the person is the better. Unfortunately you mostly learn by seeing what you do wrong, not by getting congratulated on drawing a straight line.
The process is never quick for me, so that's why I update my page so veeery often, and well, I have a small compulsion, so not making any details or leaving line art alone is kinda hard for me.
Hope that explains "how do you art" a bit

Oh, I'm glad, otherwise this would be awkward.
As for answer to you question: I honestly do not know. This is something I picked up quite early when I started learning how to draw and I think it has probably something to do with changing your perspective. I tend to do this when I get the feeling something is wrong and can't quite tell what. For e.g. I tend to lean to one side and I really don't see it before I flip the art, and then the whole picture looks quite horribly. What you want to see doing the whole 'flip horizontal' option is that your picture looks exactly the same after turning around and if it doesn't, it's easier to see why this way and change it. I think the secret is to do this until it really does not look better one way or the other.

I dont have words for this. This is brilliant. How can you draw something so beautiful. I'm running out of words, I would praise you forever, if only english would be my first language. This is absolutly perfect, the colours, the whole thing. its absolutly stunning like all of your works. And it makes me sad, oh so sad.

Oh, thank you very much for commenting and lovely words, especially given that English is not your fist language, that's really kind of you. (And your English is great, not that I have any authority to say this as it's not my first language either, but it's far better then mine anyway.)
