When v7 was released, there were tons of new features that made this website a much better place, but what I did notice is that there was nothing at all made specifically for writers. I'm starting to get tired of how deviantART babies artists and just ignores writers. There may not be as many of us as there are drawers or painters, but we still would love to see something to help us become better writers once in a while.I have some ideas of what deviantART can do for us. Some other people may have already thought of these, but... I don't care c:
First, I would LOVE to see something made for stories or books that have multiple sections or chapters. For a visual, please look at this
Also, I would really enjoy having a literature portfolio. I'm not asking for anything special with pretty graphics or anything. I just want a little folder or section for my work I would like to show other people. For another visual, look at this.
I am actually disappointed the deviantART staff hasn't had an idea to make writers happier. They're artists, right? They're supposed to be creative.

That's true but, most people come for pictures. I am not a writer but, I can understand why writers would be upset about it.

It really pisses me off that I put a huge amount of effort into my writings...yet most of them hardly get any attention.

Seriously, we need more attentio >-<. If I mess up typing I try to go put the letter I missed causing everything pass that to become mess up and I have to re type it. fore example "I orgot the guy was there." and theres a paragraph after that, If I go to mix the 'f' I get this "I forgotthe guy was there" and must retpye everything. They could at the very least for me fix that!

That's true, although I hardly get enough recognition from both my writing and my art, be it fan art or original art. But that's fine, I can try and endure it, because I'm well...me

How hasn't those awesome suggestions been put into affect by now? Those are AWESOME and it really sucks to know that it's been over two years and we still barely have much of an update. I don't submit writing pieces to dA much anymore but as a writer in general it's really upsetting to see what a mess the writing sections here are. Its almost as if it was an afterthought.
But anyway, great stamp. Maybe eventually dA will remember writers deserve attention

Hey, I totally think this is true. I'm a writer myself- and although some may not like it, writers are as much artists as anybody. I mean, if you need creativity to do it, it's pretty much art. It's actually a higher level than visual art because you have to think and know words and learn. Everyone focuses on visuals because they're too lazy to read or just jealous of our talent.

I agree! I have a lot of stories since I'm still practicing drawing, so it upsets me that my stories don't get attention, but few of my drawings does -_-

Assuming I ever finished a multi-chaptered story (lolnotgonnahappen) it would be extremely nice to have a chapter system. It'd definitely be nice reading them that way.

Very true~ But the site is called deviantART. So of course you're going to focus more on artist when the sad truth is that most people would rather see a pretty picture rather than a wall of text.

Oh my GOD the multiple chapters thing would be fantastic. That would benefit the artists since it means we don't have to put "next chapter here" links on each deviation (which I try to do, but forget to) and it helps the readers since it's easier for them to find the next chapter.
