Duuuuuude. I love Axel's expression XD Its freaking.. well.. intense! And your coloring skills fly off the charts! The coloring and perspective are amazingly awesome in the most epic way a ninja could think of, and I love how you made it have that feeling of being really hot, like the fire was right by me.

Like everyone else, I disagree with your judgement of your coloring skills. I think the dramatic lighting is spectacular. XD
I don't remember Axel's chin as having been that angular, but not only have I not seen much of Axel anyway, this was originally a sketch in the first place. Either way it's cool.
Now I think I'm going to run: he looks pissed.

That was the first time I drew Axel, so I guess I could be excused for the long chin. You know the drill... trying to find a good look an' all...
But I'll definitely keep that in mind when I draw him again.

Having drawn a good deal of fanart myself (not all of which ahs reached my gallery), I can honestly say that I really know the drill. XDD;;;; This is a pretty good first time for drawing him, though--his hair's pretty good, and his pose is very beleivable for that character.

i'll have to agree with everyone so far, the fire looks great! i really love the composition of the picture. and to repeat ~dark-mazoo's words, you get the idea across and that's really more important, i think. but if you want my advice, i'd add some faint blue to the base of the fire. fire generally has a blue base, if you look at like candles and stuff... *shrug*

I did actually add blue. But it kinda threw off the whole 'warm colours' thing in the picture. So I left it out. It would be there otherwise.

I think, perhaps, you need your eyeballs switched, because this picture is not ridiculously bad; in fact, the fire here is realistic enough that, for a few brief seconds, I felt my dorm room growing warmer. (But of course, the fact that it's 80 or so degrees F outside might have contributed to that. Just a little bit.)
