again its been a while x: bought a tablet today hence coloured this sketch in a few hours that I had sitting in my sketch book. Gunther in a pit of toxic sickness D:>Teaching in Thailand currently so I will try upload stuff on my day off, or randomly, slowly.
Inspired by NIN - Down in it, some old school stuff heheh....

I love this. I feel bad for the guy and I only wonder what got him trapped in there in the first place. A song that I get inspired to do my work is NIN's Deep and Happiness In Slavery.

yes it has really, they are still a nice idea, its just I am teaching in Thailand at the moment, my address is well semi-permanent and I'm pretty busy. I may do something but it will take a while as I have only one day off a week and not as much internet access as I would like.

I have always had this idea of drowning in ink, both when I write and when I draw which is usually with dip pens. This image makes me think of how I sink into it with good and bad consequence. Plus ink is kind of romantic to me, can be beautiful or expose ugliness. Anyway, that's my interpretation

thanks man, the lineart is traditional, just the colouring is digital. This picture is more metaphorical, but the character Gunther has a black stained face etc as its part of his sickness...i guess the goo would be to represent his sickness overwhelming him. There is a profile for this character elsewhere in my gallery

Awesome, the minimalism of color strikes me as well. When I recuperate from this last semester of 3 studio art classes ill be working on some propaganda pieces and some macabre stuff too with a limited color palette.

do you prefer to use less colours in general? I think it really brings out the picture more using less, reduces the busyness of the picture really.

Colors are great to use but when they take away from the original image they do muddy up the picture
