haha sorry for BL again, wanted to draw a kiss scene and used a reference pic to help with anatomy
I've always been bad at drawing kisses but I think this one turned out quite nicely. There is a reason behind the scenario, but I think its nicer if I leave it unexplained (characters are my OCs btw).the pattern in the background I believe belongs to

I've read the long note you sent me about your characters' background and then I went back to your gallery with a new point of view on this: I seem to love your characters only more, especially the (poor) Gunther.
This scene now has a different meaning; as you explained below this is more a "sacrifice" thing between close friends than purely love (I think).

ah 'poor' Gunther (:>, I guess the note makes him seem so, even if he is kind of a rude and selfish bastard most of the time, it must be the way he learnt from Tari and others around him. Hee hee believe me sometimes he treats his friend like real shit also...but there are deeper reasons for that heh.

Was it a spontaneous kiss? 'Cause the boy with the hat in clearly enjoying it but he seems to have been caught by surprise, as he's with his hands on his knees instead of embracing his boyfriend

ah well its a complex situation because the one with the hat is a manufactured human who is basically a walking toxic mass. The people who created him didn't really think about the long-term effect of the ability they gave him, so his toxicity is making him more and more sick over time, and he is dying.
The other one knows that he is dying and that if he comes in close contact with him he will get sick as well. He doesn't mind however, because they care a lot about eachother and have given up serving their master. They are not really in a relationship, its more a sacrifice thing; die together because one would be lonely without the other.
to be honest I also used a reference pic so I did mimic the poses a bit because I liked the original photo (it was just a stock photo of a kiss between a guy & girl but I changed the position of the hands on the spikey haired guy). I guess the kiss is almost a regretful kiss on the toxic guy's part, because he knows the other one will die from it.

haha I know the feeling, sometimes you have that urge to just do fanart because it saves time and is a character/scene you really love
You should keep working on them, I like seeing people develop their characters, especially if there is a story/reason behind the scene

I mostly do fanart because as you say it saves time, but also because it really boosts my confidence. The characters already have a ton of fans and if i do a good rendition then im going to get lots of good feedback. i tend to just do fan art when im having trouble working on my own characters.
I have quite a huge amount of story for my characters. Often the ideas are only half formed so its difficult to try and explain it all. Plus things can always change as you get inspired.

yes I agree, particularly about the feedback thing. It seems the most faved and viewed picture in my gallery is the chibi pictures I did of zoids:guardian force characters when I was like 11 or 12
haha I totally know where you are coming from, although I have plans they are fractured and its almost like you need to tell someone the story and make up the missing parts as you go along.
