Description I drew this beautiful photo here: [link] , which I've loved ever since I saw it in National Geographic Magazine!

I haven't drawn in a while, but I hope you like it.

I love these owls, but I always forget because I don't hear about them much! This drawing is a great reminder. I like the feather details in this one; you did a great job showing the difference between the smaller feathers on the head and stronger feathers on the wings and tail. Another thing I like is how well you drew the shapes of the wings; personally I have difficulty imagining the wings in three-dimensional space, so I love seeing them drawn well by other artists. xD

Wow, I'm amazed. I had no idea you could draw so well!

When I saw the thumbnail I actually thought it was a photo at first. My reaction was something like "where'd she get a snap shot of THAT bird?!"

Have to say it's really well done and does the photo as well as the animal justice. What I suppose is especially hard to get right is the depth and three-dimensionality of the original image (and even in the original picture the uniform lighting makes the owl seem rather two-dimensional IMHO); you managed to capture that just right, though.

How long did you work on this?

I wish

Thank you so much! I should had made the feathers a little longer, but apart from that, I'm pretty pleased with it

It took me about 3 hours, I think. I had the urge to draw one night, and started doing this, and then did about half an hour each night in my bed before going to sleep
