The city council wanted to redevelop the waterfront. Which meant the pool had to make way for it.

Hopefully not an anticlimactic belly flop like in those 'fail' compilations!

If she did I'll give her 7.5.

Wow your so naughty, and that would be hilarious but the women diver will be embarrassed.

Wow! I like it. Coincidentally, I remember going swimming (when I was twelve back in 1987) at the Chandler Sports Complex Aquatic Centre, Brisbane (which was built for the 1982 Commonwealth Games; it is now called the Sleeman Sports Complex). This present day - I still go to the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (which was built for the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics) where the staff at the entrance gate put a blue wristband on my wrist (like the one the seagull is wearing) before I go swimming in the training pool and go swimming in the competition pool at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. There is a water slide there too and a water park.
All of the animals in their swimming clothes! I like the one on the high diving platform the best!
When I was 11 - I read a comic book - the comic book of the original cartoon movie - "Tintin and the Lake of Sharks". One panel of the comic book had a perspective exactly like this artwork which gave me the feeling of acrophobia (fear of heights) - a person falling from the steel bars on the ceiling about three storeys high from the floor of a huge room. It was exciting and I liked it.

That one on the high platform is Evie (again!), only she'd be mad enough to dive from that height given what figure she has that can barely fit in her swimsuit! XD
I like what you said about the Tintin comic. I just kind of thought of this perspective at random ^^.

Neat perspectives, actually. I could never find the courage of doing these. First off, my fear of heights, and the fact I can't really swim. Yeah, not a good combo.

I remember stopping in Dundee during my Scotland trip in 2010. We basically stopped to use the restroom, but there was also a historic ship moored in the harbour that our guide wanted us to look at. I'd like to go back to visit the parts I missed, including Dundee.

Yeah, it is a shame. The pool was showing signs of aging anyway. The underwater lights and kids' slides have been gone for over a decade, and although I'd have preferred to see some reinvestment, I guess I won't get everything in life. Which is a shame, our existing leisure centre has a LOT of character.

That sounds like a nice pool. I know two pools in my suburb that have closed, the first was the only outdoor pool in town and most recently my high school's pool is being taken out as part of redevelopment. Now the only pool in my suburb is the worst one just because the rec center isn't going anywhere.
