Wow, this is gigantic. Sorry in advance for potential favbombing. I'll try to hold myself back a bit, though I'm a fraid reading all these works of beauty after so long absence is too overwhelming to keep control over myself.

I have been pondering this one all day, and I love the two very vivid images! I am hung up on the "third day" reference though - is there a significance to it beyond it being a long period of time? The creation narrative perhaps, which includes a reference to oceans in day 3, but the stars show up in day 2?
Or perhaps I am on a path headed nowhere, but thanks for making me think

I like to think that the meaning of a poem is truly in the eye of the beholder. That said, I do have my own take on this. Perhaps my favorite symbolic meaning of the number three is "creativity." That feeling of raw power, wonder, and love when you're creating something is meant to run beneath the surface here. Indeed, as a fellow artist, I ask you: Why would we ever come down?
