Burrowing owl, with some intense mood lighting. He was just fluffing his feathers though.

Nice capture, good composition. Perhaps lighting could have been considered more as it seems a fairly dark image and the left eye cannot be seen in detail because it isn't lit. It also depends if the owl was wild or captive when you took the photograph. If you photograph captive birds you have more freedom to play around with backgrounds, lighting and composition. If the photograph is taken in the wild then these things can't always be applied but should be considered and thought about were possible. Hope this has been constructive. keep up the great work!

Thank you! I wish I could play with lighting, or take him outside. Alas, he's captive in a zoo in an enclosure with low light, behind glass, and with few windows in his building. If it's not extremely sunny outside, it's incredibly dim inside. The owls probably prefer it that way though.
