Description Here is a piece that I created by cutting and pasting pieces from 2 different works of line art then printing them out and painting the result in watercolour pencil.

Reminds me of the section of the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC where they have a display of the history of airlines; it's cool to see the real luxury of air travel in those days (as opposed to the cattle cars of today).

I have a stack of books about the old piston engined airliners. As a kid we lived under an approach path to the airport and I remember one day standing among Mum's roses and watching a lockheed constellation come in to land when most airlines at that time had already started to switch to DC10s.
I've only ever flown once and that was in a fokker friendship but for a while there I wanted to be a pilot.

My childhood neighbourhood was in the path of the local airport and countless piston-engine transport and airliner aircraft. You just stopped talking when in a conversation until the plane was out of range.
