Honestly, I *get* why everybody hates on Yamcha. When you're writing the inevitable VegeBul, he's an easy guy to come down on and misinterpret for the sake of making Vegeta the more appealing character, but you're right, the guy doesn't deserve it. And I *like* going in opposite directions with these sort of things. Raditz is still a fight-mongering lackey with a lot to learn and Yamcha had every right to lay a much needed beating.

Indeed. Raditz deserves the beating, and kuddons for making Yamcha a right one.
I understand that, but still, it's surprising how much people can hate a character just because he interposes himself between the Bulma/Vegeta tru'-luv'... Vegeta is a wonderful character, but he's also a real jerck; and, as far I'm concerned, Bulma/Yamcha was a teen relationship as Bulma/Vegeta was an adult relationship. Every of those has its own time, and it doesn't mean fans must hate him at all.
