ooh, I know how to fix that. Can you check out my other two pics of the dogs swimming, in one of them it tells about how I got my other dog, Banya, to start swimming. She was terrified of water too. We'd throw a ball in, and she'd dip a paw in but didn't go in, and barked like crazy. so I did some things to get her used to water, it may work for you too! The trick is to be patient, not get bored, and tell yourself and your parents that the dog is fine even if it struggles.

I've read you description anyway, i couldn't find anything in either of them! But it doesn't really matter, we can only go there once a year, and its just his personailty! Though, he doesn't like to fetch, but he's a rescue and hes terrifyed of being alone. So all i do is get in the water and call his name and it takes him awhile but he jumps in and then i hold him so he doesn't float away! XD

He does, but he doesn't bring it back! Since hes scared to be alone, he doesn't dare bark, and he doesn't dare ignore a comand so i'm sure i could train him. But i'm not sure if i want to! I love my dog the way he is! Problems and all! <3 God sure did plan dogs well! I sware, its like he was born to be ours... we don't go to lakes or rivers hardly ever, perfect for Hank. We don't go out to forest or adventures, perfect for Hank. Lap dogs are more our family but i could never handle a dog that was under my knees, perfect for Hank! ITS AMAZING

I agree, dogs are incredible! I'm glad you found him! But if you'd like him to fetch stil, all you have to do is throw the ball, wait for him to catch it, then run away from him. He'll most likely bring it back to you. That's how I taught Zephyr to fetch.

aw, poor guy! I love old dogs, though, I'm going to adopt mostly old guys who need a home when I go to college.

Yeah we've had him for so long. Adopting old dogs is a good idea. They'll finally have a home and won't feel rejected.

yes! I can't believe people would get rid of old dogs to shelters, lots get pt down! I understand it when people have to move, but they should at least put the dog in a good home with family or friends, or just put it down so it doesn't have to die in a cold shelter where it knows no one.

I know, I don't get it either. I now this sound hypocritical, but I did return a dog to shelter before because he was attacking my other dog ( really bad) over food and toys. we didn't kill him, just returned him is all. A bunch of people saw us when we returned him and said;
"Oh! what a pretty dog!"
"oh look at that gorgeous dog!" ( he was a Norwegian Elkhound)

Well, I suppose so, he was pretty, but his attitude made him seem ugly to me somehow. I got my two border-collie aussies ( not related) now so I'm happy, they're pretty darn gorgeous too!

who stole them? where do you live? ( I've heard of people stealing dogs in Costa Rica) But how terrible for you! I'm so sorry! Were they just taken from your yard?

Some guys who live across the street. They stole them at night and we didn't notice. They probably took them somewhere else. They have a ranch, and many houses. They're the type of men you wouldn't want to mess with. I live in Texas. Many dogs have been stolen around my area but we don't know why. The strange thing is they only stole the ones that were in my back yard and not the old one who I have in my front yard.
They probably gave them something to fall asleep cuz my Aussie is very protective and he would a bite any stranger that comes near. My aunt said she heard a lot of barking that night (she lives across the street too) but she thought it was only my Aussie and chow-chow barking at each other (they didn't get along). The next morning I went out to call them and they didn't come. I looked around and that's when I noticed they were gone.
