In her two forms:
The first one is my BBC-sherlocked version; where the cast has been taken out from the "Great Mouse Detective", and instead moved into the BBC-show, Sherlock. She here takes the role as Eddie Lestrade, who has to deal with Basil Holmes on one too many cases.

Eddie Lestrade:
She's the Detective Inspector of Scotland Yard, and one of the few to appreciate and trust Basil and his rather odd ways; doing the best she can to try and make her team and the duo (Dawson and Basil) work together in peace, she's got her hands more than full. She's recently split up with her husband, for several years, and seems to find any work-related distraction as a welcoming relief, despite the immense amount of pressure it also produces.

Then there's my original Edith, and the one who plays a role in the "Great mouse detective" movie.

Edith Burke:
Unhappy with the simple life of women back in the days, miss Burke took it upon herself to get a proper education, and afterwards went travelling, visiting her uncle who was a diplomat in Persia (modern Iran). From there she spent the following years travelling, writing, crossing the desert with a few trustworthy men, where she got in contact with Bedouin people and local tribes, helping her mapping the desert. She spent most of her years travelling, writing about her adventures, which involved lost cities, colourful characters and unknown treasures of spiritual kind.
It was during the Second Anglo-Afghan war she met Dr. David Q. Dawson, during a dung-beetle fight, one of her many guilty pleasures, and became acquainted with him holding him high in regards and as one of her intimate friends.
They kept in contact via writing, but a few years went without any exchange of letters, until one late afternoon when she showed up in front of 221 Bakerstreet.
