Description Hey guys it's been awhile since I brought a Dragon Ball Topic where with all the hype of Dragon Ball Fighters Z even though there's no real reason for the hype yet till they at least reach a 60 to 70% completion rate since at that point there should be not much concern for changes to the game from the small demo that was a 20% completion progress. the newest interesting bit of news that was brought up is for Dragon Ball Super by a twitter user by the name of Ajay who showed how in recent episodes there has been a noticeable problem in the reusing of certain animations. granted when Super started the main concern was the quality of animation used but over time they were able to overcome that bump in the road but now the noticeable usage of Reused animations seems to be a cause for concern for fans. the exact number isn't for sure but the fact this has started to become a topic issue suggests the numbers have built up to a point for concern and discussion.

there's usually only about 2 or 3 reasons for reused animations. one is that the animators have started to become lazy whether it's cause they let the success go to their heads or for most it's cause they aren't paid enough which goes into reason number 2 where it's possible under the amount of success super has they may be starting to lose funding and can't afford to make new animations anymore which is usually the bad sign that a series is near or somewhere close to cancelation if they don't pick up the pace to out do other series that are taking the spotlight from super and the third reason is a rare occurrence under certain circumstances which is homage to something. the reason why number 3 isn't it is due to the fact Super is still ongoing and it hasn't even ended s it has no real reason to be doing homages to anything right now.

whatever the circumstances are most fans feel concerned as to where or what does this mean for Super but we'll have to wait and see if improvements happen for super in the near future.

here's the link to Ajay's twitter account to show the side by side comparisons of reused animations.

Didn't DBGT do the same thing? I remember an episode that people complained about because it gave them deja vu subconsciously.

Try Caulifla asking Goku, during the freaking Tournament, how to go Super Saiyan Blue!

Kale is the one who turned into Broly. Caulifla is the girl with the spiky hair.

the only reason (at least for me) is they reserved energy for the last episodes, i see this before (more exactly in DB in the tenkaichi, in the battle of yamcha and tenshinhan) and the last battlΓ±e of that tournament was memorable

is my hypotesis

I don't know, the animated experience hasn't really been great since the beginning of Super, a LOT of sound effects are re-used (Such as that fucking ear-cringing Rubber Balloon sound effect whenever they have physical contact with their opponent or have them in a grip) the animation is pretty bare-boned itself, the style is quite poorly angular yet without the charm of such styles unlike in DBZ, the animation flow is jarring if not shoddy at best, and overall it just makes for a really underwhelming experience despite being one of the Big Fighting Animes of the Past, and now we have the re-used clips to endure aswell.
We live in a time where high-speed action ultra animations are quite easy to come by, examples include One-Punch-Man, Boku no Hero Academia, and various others, who hire certain online animators who simply like to make these kinds of animations and pay them pretty much the same fee everybody else gets, so it's not like Dragon Ball Super has any excuse for this glaringly low-tier animation they're providing...

That said, I will give credit where credit is due, despite their severely lacklustre animation, the stories they've written so far has been hype as fuck, even while deviating heavily from the Manga (Because the Manga is still catching up and follows it's own pace and plot) the Multiverse Tournament of Power is a pretty big fucking thing with literally everything on the line, it's gonna be hard to topple that Arc off once it's done, the only downside to this is the fact that they've introduced the idea of other Universes, yet we never got the time to explore any of them before they're now on the brink of being eradicated, particularly the one Universe we all WANT to visit with the characters; Universe 6.
Aside from the vastly diffrent Saiyan culture, I wonder how their Namekian Society is like, or if the Yardrets are healthy and prospering, we won't get to see any of that...

As for the Re-Used Clips issue, if it wasn't because of the already lacking animation performance so far, I would have room for doubt that they're not Lazy or really low-funded.
My hope is that they're only doing this so they have more time animating the more epic battle scenes to come, and thus keep recycling these bits to stall for time, but this is more a hope made from desperation than it is any genuine consideration to their intentions...

Well overall I honestly don't care since super just isn't as interesting to me as dbz was since I don't feel as into it or feel the kind of tension z and DB had. That's just me though. I just brought this up since it was becoming a bit of a hot topic in Twitter and a few other sites

Re used animation footage is nothing new in the industry hell even disneyΒ is gulity of that sin when it came to it. This should not be a big deal.

well the thing is people called out Disney on it multiple times but Disney is a big international corporation. it's too powerful for anyone to fight on. as for the anime industry well those outside of japan don't really matter but Japanese fan bases take things to a further extreme where the only time fans outside japan did anything extreme was threatening kishimoto and the Naruto franchise cause they didn't like the end result couples

It's also possible that maybe they reused animations because they were on a timer and needed to finish quickly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fu-reiji In reply to Eggheadcobra [2017-07-05 17:05:06 +0000 UTC]

which in turn leads to angry and in rare cases pissed off fans

Eggheadcobra In reply to Fu-reiji [2017-07-05 17:23:49 +0000 UTC]

We can't really say for sure. If they stated that they were on a schedule, that can be excusable. If straight-up said "We got lazy", then fans can get angry.

Fu-reiji In reply to Eggheadcobra [2017-07-05 18:33:02 +0000 UTC]

makes sense but have you seen how mean Japanese fans can get?

MEGAF1SH [2017-07-05 16:41:31 +0000 UTC]

actually. it's probably because of how huge the tournament is. if they wanna maintain quality. they might have to reuse a few things here and there.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fu-reiji In reply to MEGAF1SH [2017-07-05 16:54:04 +0000 UTC]

doesn't really seem likely since the fans aren't too happy with it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MEGAF1SH In reply to Fu-reiji [2017-07-05 16:56:39 +0000 UTC]

yeah. but they probably want to avoid another revival of Frieza scenario.....or even the battle of gods arc. plus in my opinion. I genuinely don't mind an occasional reuse like that. since it's a lot better than the start of Super where the animation was.....well.....yeah.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fu-reiji In reply to MEGAF1SH [2017-07-05 17:07:24 +0000 UTC]

well you know how this works. if the majority of the fanbase is angry then japan will assume everyone is angry. to be fair though the angry is more from Japanese fans at the moment case until we get the official English dub of that arc Toei ain't really paying attention to those of us outside of japan cause what hell can we do to them all the way across the oceans where Japanese fans can type and speak the language and tend to take more drastic measures sometimes.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MEGAF1SH In reply to Fu-reiji [2017-07-05 17:09:00 +0000 UTC]

yeah. people are overreacting. to get angry over a little bit of reused animation is just silly.

it's happened before and there were other dumber reasons that fans used asΒ a reason to be pissy

DMAYaichi [2017-07-05 16:29:03 +0000 UTC]

But DBS anime passes One Piece's anime when it comes to views. We all know that One Piece is the best anime in Japan, so there shouldn't be any reason or excuses why they're recycling animation over and over. Do you know how pisses I was when Basil kept using his signature on the latest episode? They even kept recycling scenes from Vegeta and No. 18's fight. All that waiting for the Tournament of Power, just so we can see the same animation but in different settings. The entirety of the episode was good, but it felt like a spam episode.

Fu-reiji In reply to DMAYaichi [2017-07-05 16:31:30 +0000 UTC]

like I said it could reason 1 or 2 since for whatever hype people have for dragon ball fighters z doesn't change super's situation any if this happened already. so either they let the success go to their heads or something happened for them to lose funding.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DMAYaichi In reply to Fu-reiji [2017-07-05 16:33:48 +0000 UTC]

That would make sense. I didn't read the entire description. I was just really pissed when I noticed the recycling animation.

Fu-reiji In reply to DMAYaichi [2017-07-05 16:54:43 +0000 UTC]

yeah the fanbase doesn't too happy regardless of the reason for it.
