History
Childhood (Ages birth - 11)
Jackie’s childhood was plagued by the salty smell and cool breeze, as he grew up in a cottage overlooking the sea. He quickly learned to ignore the sounds of his arguing parents and pleading mother.
His father was once a very powerful man in the neighboring kingdom but was forced to leave his job due to a disgrace surrounding him and began to take his anger out on his wife. Despite the the bruises, Jackie’s mother always had a pleasant smile on her face.
He was taught to read, write, and various household skills from his mother who doted and spoiled him in any way she could.
Teens(Ages 12 - 17)
Years went by and as Jackie grew older, his father began to disappear for days and then weeks. Until one day, he never came back and his mother was presented with a difficult decision.
She wanted her son to have a better life so, she sent him away to apprentice with a herb merchant. She hoped he would learn a trade and survive on his own without being held back by her.
Jackie was an earnest learner and adapted to the traveling lifestyle that came with being under the Merchant. The man explained why his mother had to do what she did, and Jackie did his best to understand.
Adulthood (Ages 18 - current)
As an adult, his child-like nature grew and the same pleasant smile that his mother had, now lingered on Jackie’s face. Once his apprenticeship ended, he began going by the name Brooks to match the mother that protected him.
He’s still inexperienced as a merchant but his pleasant nature and delicious fruit attracts enough customers to keep him going. He’s made a few acquaintances but prefers to spend his time alone, in his garden or delivering fruit to children and elderly.
