Well the boy is Peter from "Neverland", a prequel to Peter Pan co-produced by Syfy and Sky Movies

Does it make more since that Peter was an orphan instead of a baby who ran away?

It does actually, I’ve read Peter Pan, and to me the most important thing about Neverland is that it makes you forget. The longer they stayed there, Wendy, John, and Michael forgot the life they had before. Michael, being the youngest, forgot first and was perfectly content to believe that Wendy had always been his mother. Even Wendy, who tried to make sure they remembered, spoke of her parents in the past tense.

So it makes sense to me that Peter and the Lost Boys, who have been there much longer, have forgotten and reinvented their pasts. Peter tells everyone he ran away the day he was born, but this is obviously impossible.

And the thing that keeps Peter a boy forever isn’t just that no one ages in Neverland. It’s the forgetting. Every kiss or unfairness is the first for him, because experiencing the first is a sign of growing up, and so it is quickly forgotten.

I don't give what they say in or say about the book/story, Neverland does not, i repeat, DOES NOT, make you OR EVERYBODY ELSE forget, TIME DOES. Time changes everyone, everyplace and everything, and most changes are often permanent. Because as people change and children grow to teenagers, straight to adults they forget everything as if nothing ever happened nor had happened. It's called reality.

Adults (man and woman alike)forget because they want to, while children(from boy to girl) forget because they're all, in adult's view mindless, irresponsible and disrespectful, all the things Pan himself represents in the story.

These plots of that story by Barrie are part of the reason why Peter Pan doesn't interest me anymore. I stick to the prequels such as, Syfy's  Neverland and the Starcatchers.

It is impossible. No baby is smart enough to walk let alone run, nor could they hear and understand everything. And I say, Peter probably wouldn't have "ran away", his "mother", being who and what she was, had watched him every moment, that goes the same for his "father", who just like George obviously never,NEVER took time for, EVER!

Wendy had always been "mother", even "co-mother' to her brothers partly because of her silly story telling talent and partly because of her own ambition to become one and follow up in her parents footsteps.

That's yet another thing I can't stand about that story, in fact, it is the main reason i can't stand it. Her, "mother-figure Wendy". She like all females, and I MEAN ALL, ALL, ALL FEMALES OF ALL AGES AND ALL REGIONS, think her special and better and even smarter(mostly commonly used "maturer") than even the smartest male on earth. Her as well as her own mother and almost every other even in "real life".

But hey. Don't take my word for those things. You have to face reality and figure things out by yourself. I won't stop you.

Oh, I agree with you 100%.

I hate the book, which is weird (and a shame) because I actually like the different movie adaptions/tv series that's made off it (Maybe because they re-write the characterisations, that said though I do have my problems with them). Personally the play that J.M. Barrie wrote is waaaay better than the book, because he turned a light-heartedish play and turned it into a dark and problematic story and basically ruined his own characters.

I could proudly write a massive rant on what I hate about the story, but then again lots of children's movies come from problematic books that are clearly a product of their time, which is why I enjoy reinventions of them.

Forget mature and smart, honestly I thought Wendy was really boring in the original book (Which is why I prefer her portrayal in the 2003 live action adaption more).

Yeah, i'm sure you do.

But even in the 2003 live action movie, Wendy was mature and smart, which I had always thought it was John who was the mature and smart one, glasses or no glasses.

Neverland was absolutely awesome and it does not get enough love. I really love the attitude you put in the way he's standing. It just seems so Peter. I also like the little bits of white in his hair. Nice attention to detail for a watercolor.
