I don't ship these two, personally. I see them as incarnations of madness at war with each other. Bumby creates insanity to imprison and Alice embraces it to escape. He is vexed by a kindred spirit that managed to thwart him, and she hates him for the pain he's put her through.Β The dialogue and expressions in this scene kind of embody that train of thought for me. His face in the last panel - so fed up with her sh!t - to me says how tired he is of the madness, but now he is as trapped as his own victims. She knows he's stuck and will rub it in as much as she can. To sum up, I love this piece!
