Don't stress about it. The world doesn't revolve around replying to messages, there's other things to think about and do.
I'm not bad. I can sense a lot of extra shifts being dumped on me at work soon, but other than that I'm good.

Yeah that is very much true! I guess I'm just guilty of not responding to messages most of the time, not out of annoyance, but being super lazy and
waiting too long where it's kinda awkward to respond to at that point asasfsgh
And I'm doing alot better! :] Slowly trying to get back into the creative process again, and currently trying to improve my writing because ya boi
can't even write an essay to save a life, smh...


And it's been almost a month, so did they end up dumping those shifts on ya? School season is coming up again so I'm sure it'll lessen up, other than that, how have you've been?
Any shows, books or interests that you have been keeping up with? Enjoying the remainder of your summer? :u

I think most people are the same (including me :'I ), buuuuuut who cares if a reply to a message comes months late? As long as it isn't important/urgent, then it shouldn't really matter (although... yyeeaahh I'm still guilty of not responding to urgent/important messages just because a n x i e t y ･ﾟ☆✧).

Essays are different though. I mean, it can take me months to write a 2000 word essay and it'll still sound like shit, but 4hrs to write a 2000 word RP response asdfghj

They did- BUT I managed to wriggle out of a lot of them by telling 'sly versions of the truth'. I mean, I wasn't lying. I was just... wording the truth so that it made it sound like I was busy on days when I wasn't... BUT none of what I said was a lie, so it's all good   They just chose to make the wrong assumptions based on my choice of wording.
But yeah, two people suddenly quit without warning, meanwhile two other people were on holiday at that time, which left A LOT of extra shifts that needed done.
I've been good, though. Been focusing a lot on writing and reading. I'd started reading the Witcher books a few years ago but never finished them because I'd got caught up with uni, but I began rereading them again and I'm enjoying them so much :'D I'm also meeting with my friend from Germany at the end of this week for a 'writing vacation', so that should be really awkward but fun.

I mean you ain't wrong tho... Saying you're busy could apply to anything tbh, so it's not "lying" per say dsfafgdsghg

And I've only heard of the games really, but I heard the books were good too! Which book are you reading? :0 (I mean, I'm assuming they made more than one?)

And ahhh, that sounds really exciting! Are you guys both writing buddies? Cause 'writing vacation' just gives me that impression, but I do hope things go smoothly and stay fun on your end!

I've been doing good! I've been on a YouTube video essay binge, and let me tell you, if you need something to listen to when you do stuff, or just want to chill out, those are a pretty good way to accomplish that asffhh
I would definitely recommend 'Sideways' and 'Lessons From The Screenplay', if you're down. Sideways does video essays dismantling original soundtracks for movies, and LFTS does script/scene breakdowns, it's pretty interesting stuff!

People just don't respect the hermit life ಥ_ಥ

One of them just upped and left without any kind of warning, the other guy said he'd be leaving for uni at the start of september, applied for lots of extra shifts up to the point he would be leaving, then suddenly phoned up one morning 2 weeks ago and said "yeah so I've got another job now, I need to prioritise my future, bye". Neither worked any leaving notice, they just phoned in and said they wouldn't be showing up again... :'I Which sucks for a community business.
I'm currently on The Tower of Swallows, which is the... 4th(?) of 6 in the main series, but I've also read the 2 short story compilations leading up to the main series. I'd highly recommend them! Lots of black humour and violence, so if you like that then they're definitely for you, but also just... epic fantasy. They're a really good read c:

Yep, we had started writing a novel together over google docs, then we just... spread out into lots of short stories, exploring different characters etc., and hopefully we can actually sit down together and write in the same room for once. We're gonna buy a notebook and try to fill it in the week >

Ooh, that sounds a lot like the kind of thing my brother did at university. He did lots of web design, but did so many essays dismantling use of colour, composition, symbolism etc. in films and tv shows to discuss how they convey mood and meaning. I'll definitely take a look!

Did he atleast get his shifts covered? But oof... Way to dump your work load on everyone else out of the blue, especially when you took all these extra shifts.

He didn't arrange for his shifts to be covered with anyone, but the rest of us managed to work it out between ourselves. Yeah, kinda sucks but eh, everything seems to be fine now.
(Dark humour and/or epic fantasy are pretty much the only things I ever read, and I need to expand my reading genre... :'I )

Soooo good :'D I really needed that, actually. Haven't laughed that much in years and years, and we literally just stayed in a cottage in the middle of nowhere for a week, writing, walking in the countryside, cooking typical Scottish food (and trying not to give ourselves fatty heart attacks) and listening to 70's/80's music on the radio while lazing around writing/cooking in the kitchen. I'd live my entire life that way if I could c':

Yep, it's one of the only other social media platforms I actually use. I occasionally use tumblr, but I've noticed that it's kinda... dying. Sort of like deviantart ;_;''

Did you guys rent out a cottage for a week? :0 But honestly? That really does sound like the life and those are actual aesthetic goals 
But that's really nice to hear though! Taking a break from reality for a bit really does do wonders, did you get alot of writing done too?

Yeahhh, I think everyone has been migrating towards Twitter over the last few years? But their new policies are screwing over artists and writers so yeah, it's been an actual dumpster fire. Tbh I'm expecting artists
are gonna be migrating back onto here again until Eclipse finally hits (And I am slowly starting to see it too)
To be honest, even if the policies were better on Twitter, I still wouldn't use it because the site's know for it's issues with hackers, ads, and ACTUAL Nazis, so funnn...

My parents bought a lil 'retreat' cottage in the middle of nowehere in the countryside not long ago with my dad's inheritance from my grandma, and have been renovating it. They let us both spend the week there, so literally we just sat and wrote and walked and watched birds (so many birds), and stole the teeth from a dead badger, and listened to chickens, and wrote, and cooked, and slept, and didn't sleep, and it was so peaceful c': I'd definitely recommend. We actually spent more time writing in the evenings and at night, because during the day we were exploring ancient churches and graveyards and abandoned forests, so we didn't get as much writing done as we'd planned but... we were basically talking about writing the entire time, even if we weren't doing it. Just discussing our characters and laughing at random situations we could force them into. Aahh it was sweet

I've stayed away from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, pff basically every social media site except here, discord and tumblr (though I'm not on the latter much). Occasionally I hear things, but then I just retreat deeper into my hermit cave and shut the blinds.

Yeahhh those are pretty much the same three platforms I'm mainly using as well. Have you ever thought about getting an AO3 account if you don't have one already? It's a site mostly used for fanfiction, but there's a good chunk of original stuff on there too!

Ah, yes, the ancient churches of the USA. How old are they, really? No one knows... except Greg, who was around when that one over there was built 3 years ago.
Yeah, I'm not sure how well it would work just wandering around old churches in America XD The really old ones in the countryside here are usually always empty but always open for anyone to walk into. There's one opposite the cottage, and the original long predated the 12th century (though no one actually knows just how old it actually was. Got demolished by some Lord or other, and the one that's there now was built in the 12th century. Reeeaally old graves, too. All worn away, covered in lichen and moss. You should have seen how many dead kids were buried there... 3 months, 2 years... it was almost like a kid's graveyard. So few people lived to over 30.

And you think your assumptions are wrong? *twigs and leaves rattle and shiver as I pull them aside to peer out at all those disgusting 'normal people'*
I considered it once, but back then it kinda scared me a bit (it still does sshhhh) X'D I'd actually forgotten about it for a long time till you mentioned it there
